Comencé en 1999 como Secretaria General del Directorio y fui Asistente del Sr. Faisal en Monalisa do Brasil Ltda. Al volver a Paraguay pasé a Marketing como Brand Manager de Shiseido, Dolce & Gabbana y otras marcas. En 2009 fui ascendida a Directora de Marketing responsable del equipo de Brand Managers de Beauty y desde 2020 soy Directora de MKT & Comercial. Mi contribución ha sido negociar nuevas marcas, mantener las existentes y la relación con proveedores. Monalisa se distingue por su compromiso con la excelencia, siendo siempre una inspiración para otras empresas del rubro. Monalisa representa la relación más duradera y significativa de toda mi vida adulta. Llegué con 27 años, y en 2022 cumplo 50. Conocí a personas excelentes, equipos, compañeros y compañeras que han sido parte de mi vida.
I started in 1999 as General Secretary of the Board of Directors, next I became Assistant to Mr. Faisal at Monalisa Brazil Ltd. Upon returning to Paraguay in 2003, I moved to the Marketing Department as Brand Manager for Shiseido Group, Dolce & Gabbana, and other brands. In 2009 I was promoted to Marketing Director responsible for the Beauty Brand Managers team and in 2020 I became Director of the Marketing and Commercial Department. My contribution to the company has been the negotiating with new brands, maintaining existing brands, and supplier relations. Monalisa is distinguished by its commitment and dedication to excellence, always an inspiration to other companies in the field. Monalisa represents the longest and most significant relationship of my entire adult life. I arrived at the age of 27 and in 2022 I will be 50. Here I met excellent people, team members and colleagues, who have formed part of my life.

Empecé a trabajar como asistente en la secretaria general de la empresa; luego me trasladé al departamento de marketing como responsable de las ventas de Estée Lauder. Posteriormente me encargué de las ventas retail y mayoristas para los accesorios, la relojería y joyería. En todos estos años he tenido claro que la autodisciplina y el deseo de aprender han sido siempre mis metas. Monalisa me ha dado la libertad para ejecutar mi trabajo, teniendo como base su filosofia, la transparencia y la ética de sus relaciones comerciales y, sobre todo, la atención y dedicación a las marcas que representa la compañía. Para mí, la historia de Monalisa es su mayor legado, así como todos los que formaron parte de su trayectoria y, sobre todo, gracias al gran y acogedor país que es Paraguay.
I started working as an assistant in the general secretary of the company; then I moved to the marketing department as head of sales for Estée Lauder. Later on I was in charge of retail and wholesale sales for accessories, watches and jewelry. In all these years I have acknowledged that self-discipline and the desire to learn have always been my goals. Monalisa has given me the freedom to execute my work, based on its philosophy, on the transparency and ethics of their commercial relations and, above all, the attention and dedication to the brands the company represents. For me, the history of Monalisa is the company's greatest legacy, as well as all the people who were part of its trayectory and, above all, thanks to Paraguay, this great and welcoming country.

Me incorporé a la empresa en 1988 como promotora de ventas. Fui promovida a gerente de marca y jefa de promotoras, y después a supervisora de marcas senior. Este trabajo me dio la oportunidad de viajar, conocer muchos países, personas increíbles, y enfrentarme a constantes desafíos. Monalisa se adaptó a muchos cambios radicales y siempre se mantuvo a la vanguardia ofreciendo atención personalizada. Cada evento realizado con las marcas a mi cargo fue inolvidable. Nuestros trabajos eran elogiados a nivel nacional e internacional, y las metas en ventas eran superadas. Para mí Monalisa representa pasión, motivación, trabajo en equipo, autoestima y, lo más importante, AMOR por este trabajo. I joined the company in 1988 as a sales promoter. I was promoted to Brand Manager, and head of the promotion team. Finally I was a Senior Brand Supervisor. This job allowed me to travel, to get to know many countries and incredible people, and to face constant challenges. Monalisa has adapted to many radical changes and always remained at the forefront by offering personalized attention. Each event held with the brands under my charge was unforgettable. Our work has been praised nationally and internationally. And the sales goals were exceeded. For me, Monalisa represents passion, challenge, motivation, teamwork, self-esteem and most importantly LOVE for this work. I can say that when I had the opportunity to negotiate with a supplier or a client, I felt like the owner of Monalisa. That confidence comes from always doing the best for the company and having the support of your bosses!

Comencé en Monalisa como promotora del perfume Krizia, y cuando la empresa comenzó a crecer y abarcó categorías como alta joyería, moda y alta costura, pude participar de convenciones, ferias, lanzamientos y entrenamientos internacionales, desfiles y showrooms de marcas renombradas. ¡Me enamoré de este universo! Leí una vez “Elija un trabajo que usted ama y nunca tendrá que trabajar ni un día en la vida”. ¡Es así como siento! Muchas gracias, Monalisa, por ser parte de mi historia. I started at Monalisa as a promoter for Krizia perfume. When the company began to grow and encompass categories such as fine jewelry, fashion, and haute couture, I was able to participate in international conventions, fairs, launches, trainings, parades, and showrooms of renowned brands. I fell in love with this universe! I once read "Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life," and that's exactly how I feel! Me encargo de los relojes que se adquieren en la tienda. Trabajamos con alta relojería. Hacemos mantenimiento y reparaciones dejando los relojes como nuevos. También reparo instrumentos de escritura Montblanc, para lo cual hice un curso en Hamburgo. A los 13 años comencé a trabajar en relojería, y me dijeron que un día podría ir a Suiza, pero lo consideraba una utopía. Sin embargo, gracias a Monalisa hice cursos en el Instituto de Alta Relojería Suiza, y estuve en las fábricas de Breitling, Longines, Cartier, Baume&Mercier, Tag Heuer, Chopard, Bvlgari y Montblanc. Hice un curso de reparación en ETA, la mayor fábrica de máquinas de relojes. Me convertí en un maestro de relojería. Todo lo que tengo y soy, se lo debo a Monalisa. Visité Suiza, mi utopía, aprendí varios idiomas y visité muchos países. He conocido diferentes culturas y mucha gente. ¡Monalisa hizo mi sueño realidad!
I take care of the watches that customers buy in the store. We work with haute horlogerie watches that need maintenance every two years. We do repairs leaving the watches like new. I also repair Montblanc writing instruments. When I was 13 years old, I started working in watchmaking and was told that one day I could go to Switzerland. I considered it a utopia. Nevertheless, thanks to Monalisa, I took watchmaking courses at the Swiss Haute Horlogerie Training Institute and I was in the factories of Breitling, Longines, Cartier, Baume Mercier, Tag Heuer, Chopard, Bvlgari and Montblanc. I also took a repair course at ETA, the largest watch movement manufacturer. I became a master watchmaker. Everything I have and everything I am I owe to Monalisa. I visited Switzerland, my utopia, I learned various languages and visited many countries. I have known several cultures and many people. Monalisa made my dream come true!

En esta empresa crecí profesional y personalmente, aprendí a liderar un fuerte equipo. Estoy agradecida con la empresa y directores por confiar en mí. I am in charge of the visual image and maintenance of La Gioconda and the stores: Aphrodite, L'Occitane, Montblanc and Pupa. I support the office of the Slovak Consulate in the La Gioconda building, and I manage the real estate of the Director of Monalisa. At Monalisa I learned to lead a strong team, that I am very proud of. I grew professionally and personally. I thank the company and directors for their trust in my ability.

Me inicié en 1989 como jefa de promotoras. La Gioconda daba sus primeros pasos en Asunción como representante y distribuidora de cosméticos y perfumería. En poco tiempo, logramos representar importantes marcas, competir y ser reconocidos. Con un equipo fantástico, llegamos a ser los mejores en presencia de marcas en nuestras perfumerías Aphrodite, en negocios multimarca y en cadenas de farmacias. Ganamos la fama de que si nosotros representábamos, la marca sería un éxito. Pasamos de representar pocas marcas con un equipo reducido a ser una gran empresa, con marcas internacionales y gran aumento de recurso humano. Monalisa y La Gioconda son parte de mi vida personal y profesional. Aprendí sobre el mundo de la belleza, sus cambios y lo que permanece. Aprendí que la belleza es estar bien, sentir que podemos lograr las metas y que las mujeres podemos hacer este trabajo.
I started in 1989 as head of promoters. La Gioconda took its first steps in Asunción as a representative and distributor of cosmetics and perfumes. But within a few years we were representing major brands, and we gained recognition, later becoming the best in brand presence in our own perfumery stores, Aphrodite, in various multi-brand businesses, and pharmacy chains. We earned the reputation that if we represented a brand, it would be a success. We went from representing a few brands with a small team to being a large company representing international brands requiring a large increase in human resources. Monalisa and La Gioconda are part of my life, of my personal and professional growth. I learned about the world of beauty, about its changes and what remains. I learned that beauty is being well, feeling that we can achieve our goals, and that women can do this job.

Más allá de trabajar con las mejores marcas, Monalisa tiene un ambiente de trabajo donde uno comparte con talentos humanos de muchos años de experiencia. Pasamos por muchos cambios, sobre todo la expansión. Para mí, fue desafiante tomar la dirección de La Gioconda de la persona que estuvo a cargo desde su inicio y también el cambio generacional en la dirección de la empresa familiar. Viví muchos momentos, recuerdo sobre todo las gratas visitas de los representantes de las marcas y los conocimientos que nos compartieron. Monalisa’s work environment allows one to engage with human talent who have many years of experience. Fui una de primeras consultoras para Asunción, vendiendo perfumes y maquillaje Pupa para La Gioconda. Trabajé con Lancôme y Biotherm, productos de gran prestigio. Siempre me gustaron las ventas y que mis clientes se sintieran satisfechos, tanto que volvían una y otra vez. Mi tarea era contratar y entrenar promotoras. Hacíamos promociones en todos los eventos. Todo debía estar impecable en los eventos. Empecé cuando Beatriz Aldana era gerente general de La Gioconda. Fuimos pioneras de los eventos. Nada nos detenía. Una vez hasta fuimos en bote a Alberdi, a maquillar. Cruzamos el río con glamour, Eva Noguera maquilladora, Beatriz nuestra Gerente, Deyssi nuestra decoradora y compañeras. ¡Fue un acontecimiento! La Gioconda y Monalisa siempre serán MI FAMILIA. My job was to hire and train promoters. We did promotions in all the events. Everything had to be impeccable. I started when Mrs. Beatriz Aldana was the general manager. We were pioneers of events. Once we even went by boat to Alberdi, to show makeup. We crossed the river with glamour, Eva Noguera our makeup artist, Beatriz our manager, our decorator Deyssi and colleagues. It was quite an event! La Gioconda and Monalisa will always be MY FAMILY.

Me inicié en 1986; mi herramienta era una máquina de escribir manual. Monalisa era pionera en CDE y la vi convertirse en la mejor tienda de Mercosur. Siempre aprecié el apoyo de los superiores a mi trabajo -yo manejaba valores-. Nunca olvidaré cuando el Sr. Faisal llamaba a reuniones, al finalizar nos sentíamos “agrandados”. Él siempre nos decía: “Mi éxito es gracias a los funcionarios”. Puedo resumir mi paso por la empresa en pocas palabras: ¡Amor eterno a Monalisa! I started working in 1986, my only tool was a manual typewriter. Monalisa was a pioneer in CDE and I saw it become the best store in Mercosur. I always appreciated the support of my superiors for my work, -I handled values-. I'll never forget when Mr. Faisal called us to meetings, we all felt so recognized. He always told us: "My success is thanks to all of you.” I can summarize my time at the company in a few words: Eternal love to Monalisa!

Fui la primera operadora de la central telefónica de Monalisa. Ingresé en 1990 cuando fue instalada la centralita telefónica. Atendí y comuniqué a personas de muchas partes del mundo. Algo que siempre voy a recordar fue cuando, en una reunión de jefes y directores, el Sr. Faisal se refirió a mí diciendo: "¡Martina es la mejor telefonista del mundo!". ¡Vaya halago! ¡Mi eterna gratitud al Sr. Faisal Hammoud y mis deseos de éxito por los 50 años! I was the first operator of the Monalisa Telephone System. I joined in 1990 when the telephone switchboard was installed. I answered and communicated with people from all over the world. I always remember when in a meeting of bosses and directors, Mr. Faisal referred to me saying: "Martina is the best telephone operator in the world!" What a compliment! My eternal gratitude to Mr. Faisal Hammoud and my wishes of success for 50 years!

When I joined Monalisa, Mr. Faisal Hammoud was starting the import, distribution and exclusive representation of some luxury brands. Ingresé en 1985 como dactilógrafo, redactor y operador de Telex. En 1986 fui promovido a asistente de la presidencia del Directorio. Años después asumí como Asesor Jurídico. Aprendí muchísimo del Sr. Faisal Hammoud, de su trato humano, y siempre me sentí parte de una familia empresarial. MONALISA para mí es MI VIDA. Allí conocí a mi esposa y pasé 35 años trabajando. Monalisa fue mi primer y último empleo. Todo lo que he adquirido a nivel profesional se lo debo a Monalisa y al Sr. Faisal. El grupo Monalisa no solo influyó en Ciudad del Este. La visión del Sr. Faisal, como persona y como comerciante, hizo que todo esto empezara. Su visión ideal del mundo fue como un ícono. Cuando ingresé, Monalisa era una pequeña tienda de artículos finos. El Sr. Faisal era soltero, vivía en Foz de Iguazú y venía con su escarabajo azul; después resolvió vivir en Paraguay y se casó con la Sra. Telma Galli. Vi nacer a sus hijos y los cargué a todos en mi regazo: primero a Barbara, después Philippe, Edward y William. La tienda creció rápidamente, también Puerto Stroessner. Nos ampliamos en CDE y después fuimos a Asunción, donde empezó La Gioconda. Hicimos grandes lanzamientos de marcas. Todo era majestuoso. La gente se encantaba con los lanzamientos y con las tiendas Aphrodite. Luego vino Monalisa Paseo La Galería. Siempre me encantó trabajar en Monalisa. Valoro la confianza que depositaron en mí. Trabajé en Ciudad del Este, Asunción, en Uruguay, 10 anõs en San Pablo en Monalisa do Brasil, con el Sr. Faisal. Trabajé casi desde el inicio de la empresa hasta 2019. Monalisa ha sido mi vida. Tenía 21 anõs cuando empecé. Aprendí del Sr. Faisal Hammoud, a quien respeto y admiro. Gracias a Monalisa, tengo mi propio negocio de gastronomía. Aprendí a ser honesto, a respetar las reglas y a ser un ejemplo para los demás. Agradezco de corazón poder contar mi experiencia en esta edición 50 años. Agradezco a los compañeros que trabajaron conmigo, a la familia Hammoud, a los Sres. Charif, Aref, Sadek, Alex y a los cuatro hijos del Sr. Faisal. When I started working in Monalisa it was a small fine goods store. Mr. Faisal was single, he lived in Foz de Iguaçu and came with his blue beetle; he then decided to live in Paraguay, and married Mrs. Telma Galli. I saw their children born and carried them all on my lap, first Barbara, then Philippe, Edward and William. The store grew rapidly, as did Puerto Stroessner. We expanded in CDE and then went to Asunción, where La Gioconda started. We did great brand launches. Everything we did was majestic. People loved the launches and the Aphrodite stores. Then came Paseo la Galería. I loved working at Monalisa. I value the trust they placed in me. I worked in CDE, Asunción, Uruguay, 10 years in São Paulo in Monalisa do Brasil. I worked until 2019. Monalisa has been my life. I was 21 years old when I started. I learned from Mr. Faisal Hammoud, whom I respect and admire. Thanks to Monalisa, I have my own gastronomy business and ease of working. I learned to be honest, to respect the rules and to be an example for others. I sincerely appreciate being able to tell my experience in this 50 years edition. I thank the colleagues who worked with me, the Hammoud family, Messrs. Charif, Aref, Sadek, Alex and the four children of Mr. Faisal.

Monalisa y La Gioconda significan mucho para mí. Tienen una historia hermosa y trabajar aquí ha sido una gran experiencia de vida. Agradezco al Sr. Faisal y a los demás por la oportunidad de trabajar en esta gran empresa que es reconocida en todo Paraguay, Brasil y por qué no decir, el mundo. Donde quiera que vayas en Brasil vas a encontrar un cartel de Monalisa que dice “Visitá Paraguay y comprá en Monalisa”. Monalisa es parte de nuestras vidas. Monalisa and La Gioconda mean a lot to me. They have a beautiful history and working here has been a great life experience. Coordino y doy seguimiento a los embarques marítimos, aéreos y terrestres, desde origen hasta CDE. Trabajo de cerca con despachantes aduaneros, transportistas, compañías navieras, de seguro, etc. También contribuyo en Registros Sanitarios y Dpto. de Costos. Todo ha cambiado; cuando me inicié no existía la tecnología de hoy y los desafíos eran diferentes. Monalisa es mi segunda casa; aquí pude crecer como profesional y como persona. I coordinate and monitor sea, air and land shipments, from origin to CDE. I work closely with Customs, Carriers, Shipping Companies, Insurance, etc. I also contribute in Sanitary Registry and Costs Department. Everything has changed, when I started there was no technology like today and the challenges were different. Monalisa is my second home, here I grew as a professional and as a person.

My work is to receive containers, control and release merchandise with the logistics team, speeding up deliveries and prioritizing the proper functioning of the department. It is the home that we all care for and value and the one that protects us.
