Attention, Attention, Read All About It… Straight from The Source!

Sometimes truth needs to be revealed. Truth, to me, is letting people know what is really on my mind and in my soul. I have been the owner and publisher of this magazine for over six wonderful years now. I have had some obstacles to overcome, some valleys to go into, some hills to climb, but, all in all, it has been enjoyable. I feel that everything has led me to exactly where I was meant to be: the owner and publisher of Thunder Roads Magazine of Michigan. Every month wasn’t always wonderful or profitable, but the majority were; enough so that I could do this full-time. I put my heart, soul, blood and tears into this magazine; it has become everything to me, and I have often put the magazine and my presence at advertiser events in front of my own personal life as a mother, friend, or family member. This last year has been the hardest ever. It was difficult to stay strong when, during the six months of winter, I found myself actually paying to publish the magazine. Still, we live in Michigan, and this is and always will be a motorcycle magazine. In fact, it is the number-one free motorcycle magazine in the state, family-friendly, and classy, and I am very proud of those facts!

Because I want to continue to be the owner and publisher of a magazine that I love with all my heart—and after considering all of my available options—I am announcing that Thunder Roads Magazine of Michigan will now be published April through September (vs. year-round, as it has been in the past.) Before anyone with a subscription or directory listing starts to panic, DON’T! You paid for twelve issues and you will get them! I wanted to be completely honest with you—all my advertisers, my subscribers, and my extended biker family—about the reasons behind this change, and why I felt compelled to make it. This will be the last published issue of the year and we will kick back off next year with the April 2019 issue.

If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly. I am honest—that is the reason for this explanation—and I prefer you ask me personally rather than assume incorrect facts or listen to hearsay. It is very important everyone knows I am not going out of business; rather, I am adjusting to the lingering economic downturn still existing in the Midwest by publishing for the six months covering our limited riding season in Michigan.

I do have plans of doing some off-season advertising/promotions on the website. If you are interested, please contact me; this advertising will be available at a discounted rate to promote your fall/winter events. Contact me to find out more! Also, I will be setting up at a few swap meets this fall/winter so be sure to come by and say hi.

I hope that you will continue to support and patronize the businesses that have supported Thunder Roads Magazine of Michigan each month. My loyal advertisers are very near and dear to my heart and I appreciate them so much! Some of my sponsors have advertised year-round; platinum support and have been a life-line to the magazine. There are some that have come in for the riding season each year and there are some that come in here and there, but I appreciate the support of each and every one of you!
