Introduction
Fray the Dungeon is a 2–4 player board game where the goal is simple: reach the end of the dungeon before your opponents. What makes the game engaging is its flexibility.
there’s no single “correct” way to play. On each turn, players roll dice to move through the dungeon using one of their two pawns, alternating between them each turn. If you land on the same space as another player, you have to duel them. You can choose to avoid conflict and race straight for the exit, though doing so may make the game shorter and less strategic. To successfully escape the dungeon, you must roll the exact number of spaces needed to reach the exit. This creates tension near the end of the game, as players lingering close to the exit become targets. Opponents are incentivized to land on their spot and initiate duels. Losing a duel forces you to move backward toward the start by the amount rolled during that duel, adding risk to staying near the exit. At the end of each round, players earn amulets (points) based on their finishing position. First place earns 3 points, second earns 2, third earns 1, and the last remaining player receives 0 points as the round ends once all others have escaped.
Inspiration

For my competitors, They share the same aspect of showing their environment and characters which I think is important to get the dungeon theme across. Both games art also depict what the goal or activity of the game is through visual storytelling.
Mood Board

For my colors I knew I wanted that deep purple/blue because thats the color I used on the original game board for the stone making up the dungeon. Its the main color, I matched it with the red in the title and grey because I knew there was going to be some sort of rock design for my piece.
Ideation

I already had an established creation for this boardgame, Its just we never really got our branding and or design elements of the box it goes in finished. I took the overall color scheme we used for the game board, cards, type and whatnot and plan to make a design with hopefully hand drawn elements like most boardgames have. They usually depict the “lore” behind the story of the game or some sort of conflict that happens inside of it. I have these litte creatures on the board and aside from running into them, you can also run into other players so I think im going to try to recreate that chaos for the art.
Final Presentation

This is what I have to work with, I chose a similar gothic text but less extreme. The symbol on t he top was super rushed and had almost no thought put into it. I still think I may be able to incorperate it into the new design someway.
