2011 Summer Program

2011 Summer Program Academic Courses June 6-July 8

Introduction

Session I (Five Weeks)

Session I (Classes are from 8:00 am through 2:00 pm) is our long-standing program that has helped thousands of Denver Academy and non-Denver Academy students strengthen their math, reading and writing skills, work habits, self concept and earn crucial credit toward high school graduation.

• Students are expected to communicate with their teachers about making up work for any missed classes

There will be a short break for lunch for students taking classes after 12:30 pm. Students are encouraged to bring their own lunches.

• There will be no classes scheduled Monday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day

• Tardy/Absence Policy: students will not receive credit during Session I if they miss more than two classes during that session. Punctuality is expected for students enrolled in both sessions but this is particularly important in the first session as three tardies equal one absence.

• Class size is limited to 14 students

• Students can enroll in one, to as many as four classes • High school students can receive a half (0.5) credit per class upon completion of the course work. • Report cards are generated for each student’s progress in Summer Session I. If you wish to meet with your child’s teacher at the conclusion of summer classes, contact that teacher directly.

He learned more in five weeks at Denver Academy’s Summer School Program than he learned the entire previous school year. I knew then that this was the school that he needed to be in to be a successful learner.”

He advanced two grades in reading that summer and continues to use the tools that he gained through Results Learning to help him be the successful student that he is today”.
