MAKING LIFE BETTER WITH Movement

Every second of every day, an older adult (age 65+) suffers a fall in the U.S.—making falls the leading cause of injury and injury death in this age group.

LINE DANCE WORKSHOP

March 12, 9 a.m.-1:45 p.m., DSC In one day Suzy will teach four different classes to get all beginners up to speed. Each lesson is $10 or all four is $35; partner not required.

LINE DANCE LESSONS

Every Tuesday, 3-4 p.m., DSC $30 per four-week session; partner not required

WAYNE'S LINE DANCE

Every Tuesday, 6-7 p.m., ALH $60 per four-week session; partner not required

MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE

Every Monday, 6:30-7:30 p.m., DSC $35 per four-week session; join anytime

SOCIAL DANCE

Every Wednesday, 6:40-7:40 p.m., DSC $40 per four-week session; partner not required Learn a new dance each month like West Coast Swing, Two-Step, Waltz, Slow Dance, and more.

It's very easy to social distance and learn most of these dances because each person can dance independently.

Chair Volleyball League

Chair volleyball is great for upper body mobility and joint flexibility. It improves cardio-fitness, reflexes, and hand-eye coordination.

The game is played with six players on each side of the court with a beach ball, chairs, and five foot high net. The game is played like regular volleyball, only seated.

Bean-Bag Baseball League

Latino seniors visit the senior centers to enjoy coffee, pan dulce, and fellowship with friends. There will be activities for kids, in case grandparents want to bring their grandchildren.

Research shows that older adults who participate in senior center programs can learn to manage and delay the onset of chronic disease and experience measurable improvements in their mental, physical, social, spiritual, emotional, and economic well-being.

Non-fee drop-in activities and free-play services and activities are open to residents and nonresidents with a rec pass.
