AN AMBITIOUS VISION.

Dear Members of the Denstone College Community,

It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that I present this Impact Report The last 18 months have been extraordinary for Denstone College, marked not only by our 150th anniversary but also by significant achievements made possible through the generous contributions of our supporters Your support has enabled us to enhance our facilities, broaden our educational offerings, and continue our mission of providing outstanding education to a diverse pupil body.

Celebrating 150 Years of Excellence

2023 was a standout year as we celebrated Denstone College's 150th birthday. The College doors were opened to all, and we celebrated everything that makes our school so wonderful. The year was filled with events that brought together students, alumni, parents, and friends of the College, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of our community. This milestone was not only a reflection on our rich history but also an opportunity to look forward with ambition and excitement

Giving Week and the Restoration of the Chapel Organ.

In addition to our sesquicentennial celebrations, we hosted our first-ever Giving Week, a resounding success that secured over £100,000 in gifts and pledges from more than 60 generous donors. These funds were primarily dedicated to the restoration of our beloved Chapel Organ. The Organ, a key part of our musical and spiritual life, was officially unveiled during a fantastic concert led by Geoffrey Walker (Organist), Nic Horan (Head of Boarding), Luke Wynell-Mayow (Director of Music), and Will Horan (Current Pupil).

Since its unveiling, the Organ has continued to fill the Chapel with its magnificent sound at every service and special event, symbolising the power of community and collective effort.

We are profoundly grateful to all who supported this campaign It is truly wonderful to witness what can be achieved when our community comes together with a shared vision and purpose.

WIDENING ACCESS TO EDUCATION.

Bursary Programme: Widening Access to Education.

Our commitment to widening access to education remains steadfast, and is a key part of our role as a registered charity Your donations have played a part in supporting our bursary programme. One in every seven children at Denstone College receives means-tested financial support, amounting to over £1 5 million in subsidised fees each year This substantial support ensures that talented students, regardless of their financial background, can benefit from the exceptional education we offer.

The diversity of our pupil body is a cornerstone of what makes Denstone College so special It enriches the learning environment, broadens perspectives, and fosters a culture of inclusion and understanding. Without your support, we would be unable to offer the opportunities that we do to so many deserving children

As we look to the future, it is critical that we continue to raise funds for this life-changing programme, and we extend our deepest thanks to those who share our passion for accessible education

Launch of Club 30 and Alumni Engagement.

This year, we have taken significant strides with the launch of our new regular giving programme, Club 30 This initiative has created a structured and sustainable way for supporters to contribute regularly, ensuring ongoing support for our various projects and programmes. Please join us and pledge your support of just £30 per month, together, we will make a difference

Our alumni society, The OD Club, have continued to support the College in a number of ways. Over the past 12 months, their generous gifts have enabled the design and build of The Heritage Centre and the restoration of the College Bells, originally donated in the 1930s We eagerly anticipate hearing the bells ring again daily from September 2024, a testament to the enduring legacy of our alumni.

We invite everyone to join us for the official opening of the restored bells on Saturday, 14th September, at 3pm It will be a momentous occasion, and we look forward to celebrating this achievement with our community.

A FUTURE OF PROMISE.

Acknowledging Our Donors.

We are currently working on collating our donor roll, which will be published in 2025 This document will highlight our generous donors and the levels at which they support the College If you are a supporter and would like to have your name published in this document and on our website, please do come forward. Recognising our supporters is one way we can express our deep appreciation for your invaluable contributions

Looking Ahead: Imagine Tomorrow.

I am particularly excited to share with you a campaign that we have been working on in the background - Imagine Tomorrow This ambitious vision for the future aligns with our objectives of widening access to education, restoring our heritage buildings, and building for the future.

All supporters of the College will have the opportunity to meet with myself or Jess Smith, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, to learn more about this campaign and to share your thoughts on our plans for the future. Key supporters of the Imagine Tomorrow campaign will have the opportunity for their name to be inscribed in our new Patrons’ Garden Installation in the Selwyn Quad.

A Future Full of Promise.

We are passionate about our purpose and have a great deal to achieve Your help and support are so very much appreciated With your continued generosity, we will ensure that Denstone College remains a beacon of excellence, opportunity, and inclusivity for generations to come.

Thank you for being a part of our journey, and for your unwavering support Together, we will continue to create an extraordinary future for Denstone College.
