Three charged in Keeseville murder

By Keith Lobdell keith@denpubs.com ELIZABETHTOWN — Three men were arrested Oct. 5 and then and arraigned in Elizabethtown Town Court for the beating death of 45year-old Keeseville resident Robert Rennie, whose body was found near the closed River Street bridge in Keeseville on Aug. 26. Paul Taylor, 39; Michael Rivers, 36; and Scott Denno, 19; all of Keeseville were each charged with gang assault first degree after investigations by the New York State Police and the Essex County District Attorney’s office. Along with the gang assault charges, Rivers and Denno were charged with first-degree manslaughter, while Taylor was charged with second-degree murder. Taylor and Rivers were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The members of St. Elizabeth's Church in Elizabethtown and St. Phillip Neri Church in Westport held a reception recently in honor of retiring pastor Peter Riani. Over 200 friends family and parishioners turned out to thank Father Riani for his many years of service to the Catholic Church and the parishes in which he served. Town and county officials were also in attendance making formal presentations in recognition of the years of service Father Riani gave to the communities he shepherded during his 57-year career. ELIZABETHTOWN — A former principal is returning to the Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School District to serve as both principal and superintendent. Scott Osborne, who worked as the principal at ELCS from

2007 to 2009, was offered the chance to return to the school last week, with an official offer expected to come out of the board’s Oct. 11 regular meeting and a starting date of Dec. 1. “I’m thrilled,” Osborne, 37, said. “The most exciting part was to return to a school system where I had previously
