TICONDEROGA — A group of anonymous residents in Ticonderoga have banded together funds to help authorities find the person or persons who were behind the September fire at St. Mary’s School. According to a release given to media outlets, a group of concerned citizens from Ticonderoga are offering a $2,500 reward for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire at the Catholic School on the evening of Sept. 5. Ticonderoga Police Department Chief Mark Johns said he was aware of the reward being offered. “We know that there is a public concern and they want to help assist in the ongoing police investigation,” Johns said. The release asks those who have information to contact the police department at 585-3204. “Any information should come directly to law enforcement and not be filtered through any other people or organizations,” Johns said. The chief said the investigation is continuing and now involves joint partnerships on the state and federal level. “This is still a joint investigation and we have also brought in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF ) as there may be a potential violation of federal crimes.” CONTINUED ON PAGE 4
