TICONDEROGA — Officials of Inter Lakes Health made it official last week, announcing the sale of the Heritage Commons Residential Health Care and Moses Ludington Adult Home facilities to Post Acute Partners, Inc. The deal, in which terms were not disclosed, will re-name the two facilities located inside the Moses Ludington Hospital building Elderwood at Ticonderoga.
“This was a transaction we feel is very favorable,” said Moses Ludington and University of Vermont Health Care Network - Elizabethtown Community Hospital interim CEO John Remillard said. “The Moses Ludington board was very pleased with this transaction.” With the transaction, Remillard said all employees and current patients would be retained. “It is the intention of Elderwood to have all of the current employees stay,” he said. “We had the head of human relations come in on Wednesday (May 25) and tell the employees that and speak to them. That was something that was important to the leadership and board, that the employees were treated fairly.” Post Acute Partners, based in New York >> See HOMES | pg. 4

MORIAH — Talk about unhappy campers. A bill that would make it easier for campgrounds to evict unruly campers from campgrounds passed the state senate last week. Sponsored by state Sen. Betty Little (R-Queensbury), the legislation would add a new section to the state’s Real Property Law to “define campgrounds and campground owners and provide for the removal of persons from a campground who, among other things, creates a disturbance or violates a law.” The proposed law also would provide for the return of prepaid fees and the disposal of property belonging to campers tossed from the facilities. “Although not a frequent occurrence, sometimes a bad actor can ruin the experience for other campers enjoying a nice time and the only resolution is removing that person from the property,” said Little in a statement. The legislation would also outline clear procedures between campground owners and law enforcement officials. The Campground Owners of New York (CONY) supports >> See CAMPERS | pg. 13
