TICONDEROGA — The celebration of all things “Trekie” will return to Montcalm Street in Ticonderoga this August. Off the success of the first Trekonderoga, held at Retro Film Studios Sept. 4-6, the Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance (TRA) has announced the return of the event, which will be held this year from Aug. 12 until Aug. 14. Nancy Archer and Lance Clark, co-executive directors of the TRA, announced the return of the Comic-Con-style event earlier this month. “It will build in particular on the lovingly re-created studio sets in the former Dollar Store on Montcalm Street, lovingly built by

James Cawley and volunteers from the Star Trek/New Voyages group, who have now used it to make multiple new episodes of Star Trek, which are available on the internet,” Clark said. Archer said the convention will also coincide with a major milestone in the Trek universe. “This year is the 50th anniversary of the launch of the original Star Trek TV series,” Archer said. “As there is already a major convention booked for Labor Day weekend in New York City, we will be using the August 12-14 dates in Ticonderoga.” For the upcoming convention, Trekonderoga organizers will be basing many of the events in the Retro Studio building, and are also already working with other key local actors for the use of their facilities, such as the NCCC and the Town of Ticonderoga. >> Story Continued | pg. 3

Chief Jim Hughes, a call came in at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, for flooding conditions at the store on 4308 Main Street.
