TICONDEROGA — This year marks the first time in history the Ticonderoga Historical Society has planned to present three exhibits in one year. But that’s not all. Along with a couple additional programs, there will also be a 90th birthday celebration for the Hancock House. Diane O’Connor, a consultant with the Ticonderoga Historical Society, said setting up just one exhibit typically takes about six months from concept to final installation, but sometimes the process can take up to 18 months. Multiply that by three. Ambitious? Yes. “It’s quite ambitious for a small museum relying heavily on volunteers, but well worth it because it brings increased numbers of visitors in to see the new exhibits,” O’Connor said. The three main exhibits will include a look at significant world events involving places like Ireland and the North Pole and how the events are tied to local Adirondack history. >> Story Continued | pg. 2
