By Fred Herbst fred@denpubs.com TICONDEROGA — Ticonderoga High School has officially opened its new wing. While some work remains, the district building project is substantially complete, Superintendent John McDonald said at a cer-

emony Nov. 8. “I’ve already heard a lot of positive comments,” he said. “The community seems very pleased with the work.” Ticonderoga Central School has gone though a $23.8 million building and renovation project the past two years. The project was proposed following a facilities study by a

group of district residents in 200607. McDonald thanked the school board, members of the district building committee and others for their support of the project. “Those who have seen these renovations will agree we’ve built a better tomorrow for our students,” McDonald said. Besides expanding space for

students, the project will expand opportunities, the superintendent said, noting the district has reached an agreement with Champlain valley Educational Services to lease space for a new marine tech program at the high school. “I’m proud of what the community has done in providing for our students’ futures,” he said.
