By Fred Herbst fred@denpubs.com TICONDEROGA — Ticonderoga will r educe services to r esidents next year. That’s a given. But, what will be cut? “Residents need to tell the board what they’d like us to do,” Supervisor Deb Malaney said. “Our goal is to keep as many Deb services as we Malaney can, but some may have to be at lesser levels.” To gather public input, the Ti town board will schedule a public information meeting to discuss the 2012 town budget. No date has been set. The town boar d started budget talks July 21. “This budget will be a challenge,” Malaney said. “We really have a lot of work to do.” Budgeting has always been a dif ficult task, but starting with the 2012 budget a new state law caps local tax increases at 2 percent. In 2011 the $5 million T i budget raised taxes 3.6 perc ent, so trustees know cuts will have to be made. “We’ve r eceived no specifics or details on how to implement the tax cap,” Alyssa Courtright enjoys the festivities during the Ticonderoga Streetfest held Saturday, July 30 on Montcalm Street in Ti.
