Schroon sets budget hearing SCHROON LAKE — The Schroon Lake Central School board of education will adopt its 2011-12 budget the week of April 11 and will hold a public hearing Thursday, May 5, 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Board seat petitions may be picked up in the school office and must be returned by Monday, April 18.
Zumbathon scheduled in Crown Point CROWN POINT — There will be a Zumbathon Saturday, April 30, 9 to 11 a.m. at the Crown Point Central School gym to benefit the junior class. The cost is $5. Zumba is a Latin-based fitness program that uses various international moves and music to create a party-like atmosphere. It will be taught by Zumba-certified instructor Laura Uhly, who is a teacher at the school. For information call Uhly at 216-4003.

Schroon Central School to formally open new auditorium Open house/academic fair scheduled for April 14

fred@denpubs.com SCHROON LAKE — Schroon Lake Central School District residents will get their first official look at the completed $14.7 million building renovation and expansion project when teachers host an open house/academic fair. The event is slated for Thursday, April 14. The building will be open for visitors to tour 6 to 6:30 and 8 to 8:30 p.m. In between, 6:30 to 8 p.m., there will be an academic fair showcasing the work of students. It will be sponsored by the Schroon Lake Teachers’ Association. “The association will be sponsoring this event because we are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our students and are looking forward to showcasing their projects during this open house/academic fair format,” Laura Corey, association president, said. The evening, which will include refreshments,

Cornerstone Alliance Church to install new pastor in Ti By Fred Herbst
fred@denpubs.com TICONDEROGA — Charlie Bolstridge has traveled the world, but he’s happy to be in Ticonderoga. “We’re excited about the Adirondacks,” said Bolstridge, the new pastor at Cornerstone Alliance Church in Ticonderoga. “We’re looking for-
ward to meeting more people in the Ticonderoga area and wish to be of service in their ministry.” Cornerstone Alliance Church will formally install Bolstridge Sunday, April 10, during a 6:30 p.m. service. It’s open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the installation. Bolstridge comes to Ticonderoga with his family — wife PJ and children Charles, age 19, Jared, 17, and Rachel, 15.
The family is relocating from Concord, N.H., but Bolstridge received his pastoral training in Europe. “We bring a unique international flavor to Cornerstone Alliance Church and the community,” he said. “I did my studies at Word of Life in Hungary and worked there hosting and ministering to international students.” See TICONDEROGA, page 10
