Union members are rankled over the country’s decision to give Sheriff David Favro a $17,000 raise last year. “This is mind-boggling,” CSEA Capital Region President Kathy Garrison said.

“While the cost of gas and groceries continues to climb, the county has squandered every opportunity to settle this contract. The county gives the sheriff a 30-percent raise, then insults employees with an offer that will take food away from their families.”

Information obtained shows Dave has not been forthcoming about his personal background. In 2003, he was investigated for stealing an expensive stereo from a car that was seized by another agency and ultimately pressed into service by the department. The officer who filed a written complaint with D.A. was fired. In 1979, the future D.A.R.E. officer, Dave Favro, was found by his coaches at MAI in possession of and using illegal drugs. He was given the opportunity to save the team by “owning up”. He refused, and the team was disqualified, and forfeited all remaining games for the balance of the season.

Take a close look at the letters of support for the incumbent sheriff notice that they are penned, almost exclusively, by individuals who have a big stake, financially or politically in Favro’s political prize. It is also noteworthy that these are the usual suspects, the cronies that have been controlling our lives for decades deciding who gets hired/fired, who gets grant money, who’s kid gets a summer job, who’s wife gets a no show government position, who gets there tickets fixed and most importantly how to use their positions (across party lines) to keep each other in power. He can plaster his face on the flag and his cronies can pretend they’re talking to children but this time it isn’t selling.

An Open Letter to the Residents of Clinton County My name is Terry Guynup. I am the Republican Candidate for Clinton County Sheriff.

Like many of us outside the ‘politosphere’, I am fed up with the way incumbents are abusing the power we have entrusted to them while grossly misappropriating our tax dollars. These are times of great fiscal challenges for our nation, our state and our county. The taxpayers of Clinton County are entitled to the most able, efficient, accountable, and ethical management of our leading public safety agency, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. It’s high time you get what you are paying for.

I am confident that I have the skills and experience to do this job and I assure you I have the desire. I have over 12 years of experience with the department. I have been promoted through the ranks from entry level guard to Lieutenant with an unblemished record.

This campaign should not be about politics. I see it as a job application. If the citizens of Clinton County ‘hire’ me to run the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, I will restore the morale of the men and women who serve the department and return it to its traditional mission in the community.

The civil division should be receptive too and able to service the

needs of the citizens and businesses within the county. This should be accomplished using the patrol division to serve summonses, collect on bad checks, and oversee the orderly transfer of property for landlords and tenants. All these basic functions should be provided without additional ‘fees’ (your tax dollars already pay for these services) while at the same time conducting routine investigations and responding to emergency calls. I will not allocate valuable personnel to nuisance road checks for equipment violations to raise money for the state.

The mission of the jail is very straightforward. Our department has the obligation to safely transport and house prisoners both before and after their day in court and, first and foremost, to see to it that they do not escape or pose a threat to the citizens. We are fortunate to have a brand new facility and competent personal to accomplish this, and also to be able to deliver substantial revenue from other agencies to cut costs to tax payers. We can accomplish all of this without waterboarding or unnecessary strip searching and we can avoid the sex scandals that have occurred under the incumbent’s administration through proper, professional, and ethical leadership.

I will, immediately upon taking office, call for a comptroller’s audit of the department’s finances as well as all seized assets.

rom many indications a great deal within our own community hangs on the outcomes of next week’s local, state and federal elections.

I’ve been in business world for more than 35 years in retail management, organizational management (chamber of commerce and economic development) and community newspapers. In all that time I’ve never seen people this pessimistic about our future as they appear now during this economic downturn. For years nothing could compare to the Great Depression, so we were told by those who lived through that time period. If the upcoming election cycle doesn’t signal a new direction and we continue down the path we are on I must admit I am very worried about what lies ahead.

In a recent article regarding the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce’ s small business survey, 50 percent of the responders believe our economy is stagnant while another 30 percent believe it is getting worse. Those numbers are about as pessimistic or negative as I’ve ever seen. It’s always been an unwritten rule in business that unless you’ve already announced you were going out of business, you always put a positive, optimistic foot forward. Small business owners make up more than 50 percent of the employment in the country and create more jobs than any other entity, including government, and they deliver more tax revenue to communities than all the big boxes stores combined. These are people who by their very nature defy the odds every day by remaining in business and risk — everything they achieved with each decision may be it small and large.

As a people we’ve always been taught to be optimistic. Positive things happen to positive people, but sooner or later you need to be realistic and face the challenges that simply won’t go away with a smile and good wishes. When 80 percent of these optimistic small business owners feel our economy is stagnant or getting worse somebody needs to change that climate and change it fast.

Publishing community newspapers in 10 New York counties and two Vermont counties serving more than 4,000 active customers gives us a pretty good picture of the spending habits of local, regional and national businesses. In some of the communities we serve we’ve seen a definite tighten-

ing up of the advertising dollars, driven by a lack consumer spending. In other markets we’ve seen an up tick in promotional spending, which speaks highly of the business community and the consumers in those communities supporting their local businesses.

The bottom line is this, until people feel optimistic about their future, be it a consumer or a business owner, the dollars will not be flowing evenly throughout our community.

People will be looking to save every penny they can and way they can. This unfortunately leads some folks to think the best deals are on-line outside the local community. Maybe one can save a few bucks shopping out of the area by searching for the specific product the world over, but what happens when your neighbor or family member who worked at the store you used to patronize is no longer employed and the business where they worked is no longer open? Those are local dollars and local taxes that won’t be moving within our community, meaning fewer people to support local government and more folks on unemployment and welfare requiring an already overburdened system to provide even more.

Our local economy, both the public and private sectors, depends on optimism and optimism starts right at home. So who is the somebody that needs to change the local climate? Just look into the mirror because that somebody is all of us. If we value the strength of our local community where we all have a vested interest then it’s up to us and our elected leaders to make the difference. Our economy just won’t function with a passive population. We need to be engaged and active. No one is going to come in and fix what is ours.

We are all looking for a sign that something is changing for the better. Lets begin by getting out to the polls Nov. 2, and vote for the candidates you feel most qualified to address these problems. Let’s take a more active role with their decisions to insure they encourage job growth, especially in the private sector and let’s all do our part to support the local economy that ultimately supports all of us and provides our quality of life.

Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street, PHO Halloween Festival return PLATTSBURGH — Two familiar and family-friendly Halloween events will return this year.

The City of Plattsburgh, WPTZ News Channel 5, and Latremore’s Insurance Agency will present the seventh annual “Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street” at the Crete Memorial Civic Center Friday, Oct. 29. The civic center will be open from 6-8 p.m., with children able to trick or treat from “house to house.”

“We are always excited to put this event on,” said Steve Peters, superintendent of the city recreation department. “Our staff really gets into it and makes it fun. With the overwhelming support from area businesses and thousands of children dressed up in costumes, it’s definitely an event that should not be missed.”

Individuals and businesses have the opportunity to sponsor a “home” on Safety

Street and showcase their businesses to thousands of local children accompanied by their parents. In exchange for sponsorship, houses will be constructed, painted and decorated by the recreation department. Each house will have prominently displayed signs advertising “the owner” of the house.

There is limited space available, so businesses are encouraged to reserve their houses as quickly as possible.

Those interested in purchasing “homes” on the 2010 Safety Street should contact the recreation department office at 324-7709.

Plattsburgh Housing Outlet, 690 State Route 3, will host its 11th annual Halloween Festival Saturday, Oct. 30, from 1-4 p.m.

Children ages 12 and younger are encouraged to come in costume to the event. Model homes displayed ina community setting, will be open, allowing children to trick or treat in a controlled and safe environment.

Local businesses and civic organization have sponsored individual homes and will staff the homes, handing out candy or treats during the event.

Children will be entertained by magician Ishkabibble next door inside Della Honda at 2 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, a raffle and 25-cent games. Participants can bob for apples and enjoy cider and doughnuts.

The Adirondack Safe Kids Coalition will be back supporting the event, providing families with Halloween safety advice and offering car seat checks. The District No. 3 Volunteer Fire Department will have a fire truck on display and also offer fire safety advice. The Clinton County Sheriff ’s Department will also be on hand offering child fingerprinting and ID service.

Parking will be available on site as well as at Della Honda, where the car seat check will take place.

Since the festival started, Plattsburgh Housing Outlet has raised more than $33,000 for the charity. The suggest $1 per child donation as well as funds collected from the games and raffle will all benefit Ronald McDonald Charities.

Web site aimed to build community, local arts scene

The Web site, www.diyplattsburgh.webs.com, was created in 2009 by local musician Justin Passino, who will soon be moving out of the area. It was recently taken over by his friend, Matt Hall, another local musician.

“What we’re trying to do with it right now is just have it be sort of like just an on-line forum for different community functions and kind of trying to shy away from some of the larger social networking sites,” Hall explained. “You have all this connectivity to all these things going on outside of your own community that you forget what’s going on inside your own community.”

The site features many upcoming events, as well as local bands and artists — including resources on how bands can book shows and get their name out there.

“The Web site started as a way to kind of focus on DIY music,” Hall explained. “This is a resource for people that want to try to get out there, play their music, share their music, book shows, and do tours and stuff without having to rely on the music industry and turning yourself into a product.”

The Web site also has a list of past bands from the area, which Hall believes shows how large a presence music has had in the area.

“Some people will come into the area and they’re not familiar with it,” he said. “They

don’t realize there’s been a very healthy independent music scene here ... for a long time. Just kind of pay homage to those people just to show this is what was there, this is what’s happening now.”

However, the Web site also features many links to various places and organizations in the community, including the North Country Food Co-op, the Plattsburgh Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market, and the North Country Lumber Jills.

“It’s just a way to show appreciation for the different things going on around both here and outside of our region,” Hall said.

Forums are also featured on the Web site, including topics such as upcoming events, music, and various DIY projects.

Hall said he is also hoping the site will bring forth a place where musicians of all genres can perform for all-ages shows. The only place in Plattsburgh that allowed for all-ages shows that didn’t require acoustic music was Coffee Camp, which will close Sunday, Oct. 31.

“We’re looking very hard for any sort of space to be offered, because there’s a strong desire of people to run it and maintain it,” he explained.

Taste of Home Cooking School makes its way to Plattsburgh Inaugural event for city hits Crete Civic Center Nov. 6

Denton Publications and other fine sponsors will bring the Taste of Home Cooking School to the Crete Civic Center Saturday, Nov. 6, giving people an opportunity to learn helpful tips and techniques through informative cooking demonstrations.

The event is one New Market Press, a sister corporation of Denton Publications based in Vermont, has been doing for the past five years, said associate publisher Ed Coats. This year, Coats said he was interested in bringing it to this side of Lake Champlain.

“We’ve always had such a strong interest in Taste of Home from people in the North Country,” said Coats. “So, we decided we’d bring it to the Crete this year to give the folks here a little less of a drive.”

The event will center around demonstrations from Taste of Home culinary specialist Michael Barna, who has conducted Taste of Home shows throughout New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire and New Jersey.

According to the Taste of Home Web site, Barna has an extensive

background in the culinary world.

When only 13 years old, Barna obtained a position washing dishes at a local retirement facility, learning the value of hard work and developing his enthusiasm for food and entertaining.

His passion for food and entertaining continued as he earned an associate’s degree in occupational studies from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Upon graduation from the institute, Barna headed to Atlantic City were he was a member of various kitchen brigades, opening three gourmet casino restaurants at Resorts International, Trump Plaza and Trump Marina properties.

Barna eventually moved to the Philadelphia area where he accepted the position of executive sous chef at the prestigious 5 Diamond 4 Star Rittenhouse Hotel.

He later became executive chef for Dean & Deluca’s Café Bistro division, managing their three Philadelphia locations.

In addition to being a culinary special for Taste of Home Cooking Schools, Barna’s background also includes facilitating private and Web site cooking classes, conducting local and national television commercials, and competing in national recipe contests.

“We’re excited to have Michael as our featured chef this year,” said Coats. “I’m very impressed with what I’ve read

about him and if he’s as good as last year ’s chef, people are in for a treat.”

Taste of Home will also feature booths hosted by more than 40 local vendors, featuring everything from cooking utensils, home furnishings, candy makers and more, said Coats.

“We’ve got a lot of great local businesses and representatives from national companies, too, who are on board with this event,” said Coats. “We’ve had people jumping at the chance to be a part of this and I’m positive that’s because they know how big this is going to be. It’s unbelievable.”

The enthusiasm hasn’t stopped with just the vendors, added Coats.

“We’ve been selling tickets left and right for this,” he said. “I knew it would be a hit, but I didn’t know it would be such a hit so fast.”

With only days left until the event, tickets are selling fast, said Coats. The cost of admission is $13, with VIP passes available for $40. VIP passes give attendees an autographed Taste of Home cookbook, meet and greet with Barna and guaranteed front-row seating.

“There may be some tickets available at the door, but I wouldn’t wait until then,” noted Coats. “Last year ’s show sold out.”

Former Muslim radical to speak about conversion to Christianity

jeremiah@denpubs.com PLATTSBURGH — When Daniel Shayesteh was in his early 20s, his life was much different from it is today, three decades later.

Shayesteh was, as he describes, a “radical Muslim” and teacher of Islam in the militant Free Islamic Revolutionary Movement in northern Iran. He joined with those who supported overthrowing Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the shah of Iran, and replacing him with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeni.

However, Shayesteh’s views on Khomeni, fueled by the feeling of betrayal, began to change after Khomeni was put into power.

“I didn’t like that Ayatollah Khomeni changed his promises,” said Shayesteh. “He had promised people they would have freedom to follow their own ideas and democratically get involved into the decisions of the country. He became a dictator, calling freedom evil and the product of Christianity, which he couldn’t tolerate.”

Shayesteh’s opposition to the ayatollah soon became known. However, opposition to the ayatollah meant opposition to Muham-

mad, the founder of Islam, explained Shayesteh. And, that opposition was one not stood for, he said.

Shayesteh said he was arrested, imprisoned and sentenced to death in 1984, joined by others who shared his view against the ayatollah.

“Some were killed, some escaped,” said Shayesteh. “I was one of the fortunate ones to escape.”

Shayesteh was able to flee the country after being temporarily released with the help of some high-ranking politicians. He had to leave his wife and children behind, though they later joined him in Turkey.

Shayesteh’s views on Islam were forever changed, leading him to convert to Christianity in 1989. Today, he is a credentialed minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, spreading the word across the globe about Christianity and his own experiences.

Most recently, Shayesteh has been invited to speak at the North Country Alliance Church Saturday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 7. The Rev. Bruce Overstreet, pastor of the North Country Alliance Church, said Shayesteh’s invitation was extended after

members of the congregation heard his story at a conference earlier this year and came back with a strong recommendation he come to Plattsburgh.

“They were very impressed with his story as well as his delivery,” said Overstreet, adding he feels the subject of Islam is one of great interest to many. “I just think it’s very relevant with our times, when we consider all the things that have happened since 9/11.

I think there’s a lot of interest and ignorance as to what the background of people like Daniel is.”

“I have to admit, until I read [Shayesteh’s] book, I thought I understood Islam,” continued Overstreet. “I knew nothing about Islam and the things that motivate followers. It was very eye-opening. It was also very interesting to see how Daniel’s life has transformed since all the things he’s been through.”

Overstreet said he’s looking forward to having Shayesteh share his personal experience with the church’s congregation and members of the general public, who are also welcome to attend.

Shayesteh’s first discussion, “Basics of Islam; The Light of Christ & the Heart of Islam; Conversational Evangelism,” will be at the church Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. His second talk, “The Journey of a Radical Muslim to Christ,” will be part of the church’s 10 a.m. service Nov. 7, followed by a potluck lunch. Attendees that day are encouraged to bring a main dish and either a salad or dessert to share.

By Anayely Garcia ana@denpubs.com PLATTSBURGH — On Oct. 24, a caravan of cyclists pedaled to the accident scene of Yee Hao “Bryan” Chiel and paid their respects by placing white and red carnations in his memory.

A month has passed since the life of Chiel was taken in an automobile-cyclist collision Sept. 28.

Originally a transfer student from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Chiel, 20, had only been at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh’s campus for five weeks before his life abruptly ended due to a collision on State Route 3 with a tractor-trailer.

“He was always laughing,” recalled Allie Hubbard, Chiel’s former resident advisor. “[He] was never without a smile on his face.”

About Biketopia PLATTSBURGH — Being one of the newest clubs at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh’s campus hasn’t kept Biketopia from making a serious impact in the community.

Officially established March 31, Biketopia’s main mission is to promote unity, cyclist’s safety and cycling awareness.

“Biketopia is a student-run, Student Association funded group that recycles used bicycles, provides a free garage and a free space on campus where people can work on their bikes or learn about putting bikes together,” said president and founder Samaria Corrales.

Made possible through grants, Biketopia has opened a repair shop behind the tennis courts located behind Macdonough Hall. Students will be able to learn about bicycles and be able to repair and work on their bikes. The garage is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m.

“You come in and do all the work yourself, so you fix it yourself,” said Corrales. “But there are always people who know what they’re doing or at least are willing to work with you.”

Biketopia strives to keep cyclists safe by asking motorists and cyclists to always be aware of each other on the road and by providing students some of the appropriate gear.

“We’re going to be handing out 500 red blinking lights [made possible] through three executive grants, so they came from the executive board and through additional allocations,” added Corrales.

Aside from promoting safety, Biketopia’s club members also host bike rides to various locations, including Burlington, Vt. For more information about Biketopia or Biketopia events, contact SUNY Plattsburgh director of public relations Michelle Ouellette at 565-0145.

“I couldn’t have had a more perfect roommate,” he said.

In honor of Chiel’s memory, Biketopia, a student-run club at SUNY Plattsburgh hosted “Petal to Protect” Oct. 24.

A group of 25 or so cyclists, which consisted of Congressman Bill Owens, SUNY Plattsburgh staff and their children, Biketopia members, and other cyclists pedaled to the scene of the accident.

“Many of [the cyclists] had never met Bryan, but simply because he was a fellow fallen rider they came and showed they cared,” said Biketopia president Samaria Corrales.

A white-clad ghost bike was placed on a fence where Chiel passed.

The caravan of cyclists rode up Rugar Street, down on Hammond Lane and then on Cornelia Street where white and red carnation flowers waited for them. The group of cyclists placed the flowers all over the bike, followed by moment of silence and brief speeches.

After the placing of the flowers, the caravan, led by university police officer Bob Light, rode down Broad Street and back to the Angell College Center.

“We hope to achieve a little bit of unity by bringing together different cycling groups,” said Corrales. “Bringing awareness to Bryan’s death and ways to prevent it in the future was one of our goals.”

Campus unites to remember ‘Bryan’Chiel and promote bike safety

In his short time at SUNY Plattsburgh, Chiel managed to make many friends and impact many lives, explained Hubbard.

Jesse Chandler, Chiel’s roommate, recalled walking into their room for the very first time and hearing one of his favorite songs being played by Chiel. He said the song was a sign they would get along well.

Chiel enjoyed a wide variety of music such as R&B singer Sam Cooke and jazz singer Nina Simone. Staying active and healthy was also one of his main priorities, explained Chandler; they often played basketball and racquetball. Something most people didn’t know about Chiel was how romantic he could be.

“He let me read some of his journals from a few years ago about his first kiss,” said Chandler. “I would have never guessed he could express his feelings in such an elegant way.”

“Bryan wanted to experience everything that America had to offer.” he said. “Sometimes it was exhausting trying to keep up with everything he wanted to do.”

Chandler also remembered video chatting with Chiel and Chiel’s mother. Chiel was raised in a household speaking English and Malay.

“They had developed their own language that was a fusion of the two languages, sometimes using words that weren’t even completely one language,” explained Chandler.

“It was hilarious to listen to because I could understand everything they were talking about.”

Chandler said he and Chiel were so compatable, they were already discussing the possiblity of being roommates next semester.

Dentists taking stand against sweets this Halloween PLATTSBURGH — Candy can equal cash this Halloween.

Two local dental practices are offering $1 per pound of candy brought into their offices beginning next week. High Peaks Dental, 55 Cornelia St., and Champlain Smiles, 762 State Route 3, Suite 1, will purchase unopened candy back from children to prevent them from developing cavities this sweet treat season.

“Ditch the candy, that’s what we’re saying. Visiting your dentist twice a year and

brushing daily are great preventive measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost,” said Dr. Athena Graves, whose practice, Champlain Smiles, will also give out glowing electric toothbrushes. “Kids can still have all the fun of trickor-treating, and now their piggy banks will benefit as well. Plus, these glowing brushes we’re giving our are really cool — they’re like light sabers for your mouth.”

November is National Hospice Month

PLATTSBURGH — The month of November is recognized as National Hospice Month, a time of year set aside to honor those who provide end-of-life care to those in need.

The mission of organizations like Hospice of the North Country, which serves Clinton and northern Franklin counties, is important to people like Harriet Taylor of West Chazy.

Taylor began volunteering for Hospice of the North Country about five years ago, driven by a desire to help others and because of her own losses. In 2004, she lost her husband, Jerome, one month shy of their 53rd wedding anniversary. The following year, her older sister, Gladys, passed away and, in 2005, she lost her younger sister, Grace.

“The three people I was closest to were gone,” said Taylor.

Rather than filling her days lamenting the loss of her loved ones, Taylor began volunteering for Hospice prior to the loss of her

sister, Grace, who was also helped

by Hospice.

“I was lonely,” admitted Taylor.

“But, I said I couldn’t sit around and fret. So, I joined Hospice.”

Knowing what people go through when losing a family member, Taylor said she was motivated to provide families relief by spending time with their loved one. And, at the same time, her visits served the purpose of brightening the life of the person receiving Hospice care.

“I like people and I love to hear them talk. It’s company for me as well as it is for them,” said Taylor, who also spends one day a week volunteering as a clerk at Transitions, a store in downtown Plattsburgh which raises money for Hospice programs. “I just want to help.”

The people whose lives Taylor has touched in her years as a Hospice volunteer have stayed with her. One that comes instantly to mind was a retired schoolteacher who suffered from Alzheimer ’s disease.

“When you would ask her what she had for lunch, she couldn’t re-

member,” recalled Taylor. “But, if you mentioned something about traveling, which is something she did every summer, or if you mentioned anything about her family, she loved to talk about her brothers and sisters. I would just sit there and keep her company and let her talk for hours.”

Even today, a Hospice patient she visits with has meant a great deal to her, said Taylor.

“She’s teaching me how to play Scrabble,” said Taylor. “She’s a delight. I thoroughly enjoy being with her.”

When spending time with a person under Hospice care, many might think the person facing the end of their life is the one who benefits most from their time with a volunteer, said Taylor. However, she finds the opposite to be true.

“Being a volunteer is something you get a lot more out of than you’ll ever give,” she said.

Climbing aboard the Nite Train

jeremiah@denpubs.com PLATTSBURGH — When Nite Train comes rolling into town, they’re bent on bringing a show like none other.

The band is one started several years ago by brother and sister duo Jason and Rhonda Daniels. The two were in a band called Split Decision and decided they wanted to set out on their own, said Jason.

“So, we cut ties with that band and went through audition after audition looking for what we thought was a sound that all could enjoy,” he said.

The two enlisted the talents of drummer Dan Rochester and another friend to handle vocals, later replaced by Trevor Gillespie. Most recently, Jason and Rhonda’s nephew, Travis Daniels, joined the band on guitar. With Jason on lead guitar and Rhonda on bass, the combination of the five of them has become what the band was looking for all along.

“I think we stand out from other bands because we have three excellent singers that harmonize with each other extremely well,” said Jason, who handles vocals with Rhonda and Dan. “And, having three singers doesn’t allow a crowd to get bored with one sound.”

What’s contributed to Nite Train’s popularity has been their ability to play a wide catalogue, said Jason. Playing everything from AC/DC to Patsy Cline has been what has kept the band a local favorite and even a band popular across the area.

“We all have our influences,” Jason said of the band’s mu-

sical backgrounds. “I personally liked the ‘80s hair bands.

Our lead singer is more a Metallica type and our bassist grew up and still loves her country music. So, that’s a pretty large list of influences.”

Ever since the band played their first gig at Jim’s Place — where Gilligan’s Getaway stands today — crowds have been “fun” and “responsive” to their sound, said Jason.

“We will play to the crowd on many different levels,” he

said. “Most important is we have so much fun together. It’s nothing to watch us play and we start laughing and goofing with each other on stage. I feel that the crowd relaxes and starts to have more fun than they might elsewhere.”

Double-header this Halloween-weekend PLATTSBURGH — The Illegitimate Son of Mystery Science Theater 3000 will host a Halloween-weekend double-header.
