He began to have chronic bloody noses and was in constant discomfort, she added. “We spent February to March visiting ear, nose and throat specialists,” said LaFountain, who noted the specialists also could find nothing else wrong with Josh. “They just kept telling him to take Sudafed and Advil and keep up with the antibiotics.” The family did just that and even tried to go about their daily life as usual, said LaFountain, including taking a planned family vacation to Florida. However, while on the trip, Josh’s sinus issues were worsening and he developed a low-grade fever.

CHAZY — When 15year-old Josh LaFountain was diagnosed with Wegener ’s disease, it was a diagnosis that took his family by surprise. CHAZY — Throughout the summer, the sound of construction crews hard at work has replaced the sound of students shuffling to and from classes in the halls of Chazy Central Rural School. The school has been under renovation since the end of the 2008-09 school year in June with work planned to continue through the beginning of the new school year next month. The improvements to the circa 1968 school are part of a $7.4 million renovation project approved by school district voters in November 2007. According to school district superintendent Kevin R.
