MOOERS — The needs of many nonpr ofit or ganizations have been strained by the economy in r ecent years, and the Mooers Food Pantry is no different. Those who oversee the food pantry — housed at the Mooers Wesleyan Chur ch on Maple Street — recently put out a plea to the community for donations due to a continued increase in See PANTRY, continued on page 8

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School district budget wasn’t as favorable to voters the second time around. The Beekmantown budget — Central School District which was initially approved May 17 by a vote of 746 to 730 — was ordered by the state education commissioner to be put up for a r evote June 30 after it was found one of three voting machines used was not u pdated f or t he e lection, a nd d isplayed last year's figures to voters.
