Candidates declare for LG village posts

LAKE GEORGE Ñ Two incumbents and one challenger have to date announced their intention to run for two village board seats, according to municipal officials. Ron Mogren, a landscape architect with Saratoga Associates has announced he is running for a board seat. He presently serves as chairman of the village zoning board of appeals. Mogren is competing against incumbent Deputy Mayor John Earl, a village trustee since 1999, and Ray Perry, proprietor of PabloÕ s Burrito Cantina in Lake George. Perry has served as a trustee since 2007. Semiretired, Earl works seasonally as a state Department of Environmental Conservation employee. The village mayor post is also up for a vote this year. Both the mayoral and trustee positions have four-year terms. Mayor Robert Blais is running for re-election, unchallenged at this point. He was first elected mayor in 1971, after serving since 1968 as trustee. Considered the longest serving mayor in New York CONTINUED ON PAGE 3

The contest was paused to give her the game ball. Langworthy, named Adirondack League Basketball MVP in 2014 as a junior, had just scored her 1,000th career point with the long-distance shot

and just three days earlier in a showdown with Whitehall, the standout athlete had set a new alltime school record by scoring 46 points in a single basketball game.
