BRANDON Ñ Peter and Tonya Bonvouloir wanted to start their own business and knew that Brandon would be the perfect setting. The two purchased ShapiroÕ s, downtown BrandonÕ s landmark department store, in August 2013 and have been renovating the store to make it their own. Despite a store full of retail goods, something was still missing, according to Tonya. They decided to make and sell her delicious salsa, a mediumheat recipe that was given to her by a close friend years ago and only uses fresh produce. After they began the process to make salsa, Peter thought it would be a great addition to make fudge as well. With help from their two youngest children, the pair is creating batches of the products. The Bonvouloirs are excited to begin making fudges in flavors ranging from maple walnutÑ made with pure Vermont syrupÑ to Almond Joy and much more. They are also pairing with other local products, including Fat Toad Farm goats milk caramel, Ledge Haven Farm maple syrup, Gringo JackÕ s Chips, produce from Queen Bee Farm, and local apples for some great fall recipes. Fudge and salsa can be purchased at ShapiroÕ s, located at 12 Park St. in Brandon.
