New Mustang vandalized CuttingSVillE Ñ on May 26, at approximately 4 a.m., an unknown person drove a vehicle (possibly towing a trailer) into the parking lot of the John C. Stewart and Son Ford located on Vermont route 103 in the town of Cuttingsville. the vehicle struck a 2014 Ford Mustang causing significant contact damage. The Mustang was pulled and pushed into four other vehicles causing varying damage. Police recover body from Otter Creek By Lou Varricchio lou@addison-eagle.com ProCtor Ñ on May 30, at approximately 8:01 a.m., the Vermont State Police rutland received a 911 call regarding a dead body, located near the Proctor hydroelectric plant in Proctor. Members from the Vermont State Police, along with and members of rutland County SheriffÕ s Department responded to the scene. through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that maintenance workers for the plant had discovered the body along the banks of the otter Creek. Rutland on rebound from storm By Elicia Mailhiot elicia@addison-eagle.com rutlAnD Ñ rutland managed to survive another powerful storm, but not before it left cars, businesses, and homes damaged. the national Weather Service in Burlington issued a storm warning for rutland County on tuesday, May 27 at 3:45 p.m., reporting thunder storms and torrential rain in Addison County. the storm quickly moved through Bridport, Brandon, and Pittsford, picking up power before it finally hit rutland City. By then, the weather service had reassessed the storm, issuing a tornado warning as well. the storm was Ò capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, deadly lightening, and torrential rain,Ó according to the Weather Service. they were right. MiDDlEBurY Ñ the annual Vermont law tnforcement torch run for Special olympics passed through rutland and Addison counties May 30. the run is a series of four relay-style running events, beginning in the four corners of our state. local law enforcement and public safety, along with local program athletes, coordinators, and coaches, run the Ò Flame of HopeÓ through their local towns and cities to raise awareness of Special olympics and athletes with intellectual disabilities. the 2014 torch run took place May 28-30 and began at the four corners of the state south, proceeding toward South Burlington. on the evening of May 30, torch runners assembled at the Windjammer in South Burlington to run the Final leg of the torch run together. Final leg runners escorted the Flame of Hope into opening Ceremonies of Summer games at the university of Vermont. Sale of lEtr t-shirts is a longstanding tradition and fundraising vehicle for SoVt. t-shirts are available for sale at Special olympics Vermont Summer games but size selection is not guaranteed.
