Mom and DadThank you both so much. Thank you for your guidance. Your patience. Your commitment to excellence. Your dedication not only to this company, but to your family, your clients, and your community. You have been role models, leaders, and pillars of this company for over 30 years. Most especially, you have been my heroes. Watching this company grow from nothing when I was a little kid, to building over 700 houses throughout your careers, you never missed a beat when it came to being great parents and grandparents. You made it seem effortless when raising Kyle, Annie, and I, but I know it wasn't easy. The home building business has its ups and downs and you have seen the highest highs and the lowest of lows. What you have taught me over the past 10 years working side by side with you both cannot even be put into words. However, what you have taught me over my 37 years of being your son is put into two simple words. Love and Leadership. You two exemplify those two words to the fullest. The love you have for each other, your family and friends, your company, your passions, and for everyone spreads throughout the world. The leadership you have shown in building this company, in raising your family, and throughout the numerous board / volunteer positions you have sat on, has shown me what leadership is all about. Since I could remember, Bart, your motto was "Be a Leader, not a Follower" and you continue to live by your words. "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way" Thank you mom and dad for absolutely everything you have done. You two deserve retirement together more than anyone I know. I know you will never stay away, but please know that because of how you raised me, the company is in good hands and that will never change. The legacy you left will continue for generations.
