A Letter from Jim Denison, CVO
Dear Friend,
Every quarter I find a new reason to be grateful for the family of believers standing behind this ministry. You have prayed for us, given sacrificially, and trusted that God is still writing a good story through Denison Ministries, even in an anxious and divided age. I do not take that trust lightly, and I want to tell you where it has led us.
You may be aware of our vision for A New Kind of News, a three-year campaign to expand Denison Forum’s reach and deepen its impact on a culture that is starving for a steadier, more biblical way to engage the headlines. I am grateful to tell you that Year One of that campaign, our $981,000 foundation building goal for 2026, is almost fully funded. Because of donors like you, we are already expanding our network of writers, building the systems, and laying the groundwork this next chapter requires.
One reader recently wrote to tell us why that work matters. They said they were tired of Christian voices that sound more partisan than biblical, and that they leave our Culture Brief podcast each week feeling informed and hopeful, rather than anxious and divided. That was precisely our calling when we set out nearly seventeen years ago, and it is exactly what we pray this next season of ministry will provide for many more people.
I am also excited to give you a preview of something we will share more widely later this year. Beginning in early 2027, Denison Forum will take on a new name: Anchored News. We are not ready to make the announcement publicly just yet, but you have walked with this ministry long enough that I wanted you to hear it here first, from me, before anyone else does.
Let me be clear about what is not changing. Denison Ministries, the ministry that carries First15, Christian Parenting, Foundations, and the Chapel at Possum
Kingdom alongside the Denison Forum brand, is not changing at all. This is a new name for one of our five brands, not a new direction for the ministry. And I am certainly not going anywhere. I will keep writing The Daily Article and continue serving you and this ministry for years to come.
So why the change? Because too many people who need what we offer have never heard of Denison Forum and have no idea what the name means. When they hear Anchored News, they will quickly understand our purpose: helping Christians navigate today’s headlines with biblical truth and lasting hope. Our prayer is that this new name opens the door to reach millions more people who are exhausted by outrage and hungry for something steadier, all while never losing sight of the calling that started this ministry in the first place.
I will have much more exciting details to share with you in the months ahead, including at our annual gathering at the Dallas Country Club on September 10, where I would love to tell you more in person.
For now, thank you. Thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your encouragement as we work to steward everything God has entrusted to us. I am more hopeful about what is ahead than I have been in a long time, and I believe this, in large part, because of partners like you.
With heartfelt thanks,
DR. JIM DENISON
Chief Vision Officer, Denison Ministries
A trusted guide to understanding today’s culture
Denison Forum continues to equip believers to navigate today’s culture with humility, wisdom, and courage. Through Christ-centered insight, the ministry helped Christ’s followers engage current events and issues with hope by grounding their perspective and understanding in God’s truth.
Recently, we released a special 10-week newsletter series, written by Jim and Ryan Denison, called America 250: The History of our Future. This content delivered biblical insights, lessons, and reminders for being both citizens of heaven (Philippians 1:27 NLT) and good Americans, gained through the founding of our country. This content was further supported and expanded by multiple Faith & Clarity podcasts marking the 250th Anniversary of America. Podcast guests for this series included attorney and nationally recognized author Talmage Boston and American History Professor at DBU, Dr. Mike Williams. These resources were well received by our audiences.
As 2026 progresses, the ministry is adding more new voices to bring biblical discernment to the concerns of our generation. In recent days, we have welcomed Knox Thames, Director of the new Center for Global Religious Liberty at Dallas Baptist University; Bobby Dagnel, recently retired pastor of First Baptist Church, Lubbock, and Chaplain to the Texas Tech University football team; as well as Jonathan Becker, Laurel Wood, and Allison Johnson to our editorial team. Our goal is to build a skilled ensemble of godly writers who bring consistent discernment to the needs of believers living as salt and light in our confusing culture.
One listener shared with us,
I just want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciate your daily wisdom. I always know I can trust Denison Forum for a biblical perspective on the news I’m hearing from secular or other sources. I always feel I’ve grown closer to the Lord and more knowledgeable about His word and His character after I’ve read or listened to your daily article. Thank you.

Connecting millions of people to God daily
Helping people connect with God daily is at the heart of First15. We believe that when believers walk closely with God, the ripple effect leads to flourishing families and communities. We are deeply grateful that more and more people worldwide are beginning their days with First15.
In May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, First15 provided biblical encouragement and practical prayer resources for people facing some of life’s most difficult emotional challenges. Eight new guided prayers addressed topics including anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, emotional exhaustion, and the courage to seek help, offering readers a Christ-centered path toward hope and healing.
As global uncertainty and personal pressures continue to weigh heavily on many people, First15 also released new guided prayers focused on finding peace in a troubled world and embracing Sabbath rest. These resources continue to help readers bring their worries to God, experience his presence, and begin each day grounded in faith rather than fear.

Helping parents raise the next generation with the gospel
Christian Parenting exists to walk alongside parents as they raise children who know, love, and follow Jesus. This quarter, we released Faith in Action: Prayers from James for the Next Generation, a 38-week prayer journal designed to help families pray intentionally for their children throughout the school year.
We also welcomed Scarlet Hiltibidal as the new host of Pardon the Mess, continuing the podcast’s mission of offering honest, grace-filled encouragement for parents. As we celebrate Scarlet’s arrival, we’re also grateful for Courtney DeFeo’s years of faithful leadership of the podcast. One listener shared,
“Way to go Courtney. So proud of the hard work you’ve put in this podcast. You’ve carried the torch well and I can’t wait to see how God leads you next.” —Listener

Learning to think and live biblically
Foundations continues to create Bible studies that help people experience the transforming power of Scripture. In April, we released Revelation 101: Learning from the Churches Jesus Loved, a 7-week study designed to help participants approach the book of Revelation with confidence and clarity.
Like all Foundations studies, Revelation 101 equips believers to study God’s Word for themselves, deepen their understanding of Scripture, and apply biblical truth to their daily lives.

Digital and in person: not either/or but both/and
Denison Ministries is a unique church. Our work began as an online, digital-equipping and discipleship ministry reaching a regional, national, and even international congregation of Christ followers. Not long after our founding in 2009, God opened the path for Denison Ministries to have its in-person expression in the Harbor development on Possum Kingdom Lake. Since that time, the Chapel at PK has grown in impact along with the other ministries God has entrusted to us. Like most churches today, especially in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, our work is a combination of in-person and digital strategies that seek to build disciples that God can use to change the world.
Easter was once again the highlight of the spring season at PK Chapel with more than 500 in worship attendance. Many extended families from Dallas, Wichita Falls, and Midland celebrate the cross and the resurrection of Jesus in the Possum Kingdom area. Through word-of-mouth testimonials, invitations, and increased marketing efforts, PK Chapel is becoming better known to the permanent residents and weekenders around the lake. Many are making fellowship and worship at the chapel a regular part of their weekend spiritual rhythms. Almost every Sunday gathering sees both familiar faces and first-time worshippers.
Recently, two Sunday worshippers shared impromptu testimonies of how God saved their family from a house fire started by lightning and another through a life threatening construction accident. From these and many more examples, it is clear that God is present and active in meeting the spiritual, relational and material needs at the Chapel at Possum Kingdom lake.
