What We Love: The Corazon is crafted each year from the best plot and barrel that the vintage offers, sourced from the oldest vines planted in 1967.

The vines are in the south-facing part of the vineyard, where the grapes receive more sunlight and develop a thicker skin, enhancing phenolics, energy, intensity and flavor. The Corazon is philosophically akin to a Burgundy Grand Cru, such as Chevalier Montrachet and Montrachet, with more density of flavor and opulance.

Vaillons takes its name from the Latin “vallis,” which means little valley.

2022 Chablis Grand Cru Château Grenouilles CHABLIS

Sitting in the middle of the Colline des Grand Crus (hill of the Grand Crus) on the right bank of the Serein River, Grenouilles is the smallest of the Grand Crus and La Chablisienne owns over 75% of this climat.

The name, which dates from the early 14th century, is a reference to the frogs that visit the vineyard from the Serein in the spring. The topography of this climat is similar to Bougros with a steeper lower slope that flattens a bit towards the top of the cru. Geology together with its excellent south and southwest exposure deliver optimum ripeness and phenolic maturity, which yields generous wines with finesse, precision and strength—a complex tension gilded with minerality.

Grand Cru Les Clos, considered a benchmark of Chablis Grand Cru, is believed to be the first vineyard planted on this hillside in 1267.

The name is a reference to the stone walls that once surrounded the best vines. This iconic wine was called, “one of 50 wines that changed Italian winemaking” by Italian wine authority, Gambero Rosso.

The Sangiovese and Merlot grapes for this single vineyard offering come from one of the oldest vineyards in Italy, with records dating to 1435. The vineyard sits on a well-lit plateau surrounded by oak forests, a unique microclimate for both Sangiovese and Merlot. The Merlot plantings were added in the early 1980s as the ideal complement to the indigenous Sangiovese grapes. The reputation of Siepi vineyard has led throngs of winegrowers to request cuttings over the years. Siepi delivers wines of superior structure and sophisticated elegance.

Nero d'Avola grapes are cultivated “ad albarello," which is the traditional Sicilian head-trained system requiring 400 hours of hand work per hectare each year.

Doppiozeta is the estate's hallmark wine from three unique plots, each with a separate process from harvest to vinification. This Zisola is unfiltered in every way with natural fermentation in small stainless steel tanks for 30 days, without any addition of yeast or temperature control, and spontaneous malolactic fermentation in oak. It's a super-Nero d'Avola, muscular with an explosion of fruit and spices and an elegant texture.
