“Built by four soldiers with their bare hands, June 1, 1946,” reads the cornerstone of the original building that has become the heart of Delta Millworks’ operations in Austin, Texas. It’s safe to say that this simple structure with a sawtooth roof had a big part to play in the Delta story. During repairs to the roof, the Delta team picked up a torch and experimented with burning wood, at the time unaware they were reviving the traditional Japanese technique of shou sugi ban, or the preservation of wood by charring.
Around the same time, Delta began working with the most sustainable North American hardwoods and softwoods, reclaimed wood, and later began coating durable modified wood to create a vast range of products, applying rich color and texture to clad unique building projects.
It is incredibly rewarding to celebrate the achievements of the architects, builders, and designers who look to Delta as a source of inspiration and resource for these materials.
The future of wood is bright. Delta values wood as a renewable material, helping to create more sustainable buildings. We will continue to be inspired to create products that stand the test of time.
Exterior
Delta Millworks’ exterior cladding products are made to last, providing beauty and longevity in unforgiving environments. 100% of Delta’s products are sustainably sourced, and include reclaimed and repurposed material, modified wood, FSC certified material, and North American hardwood & softwoods. Sustainablysourced modified woods utilize the world’s best clean
technologies in wood modification and produce products that last decades. Every one of our finishes is performance tested and results in beautiful, lowmaintenance exterior wood siding. All of our work is done with sustainability in mind and a deep reverence for the wood itself.

HD Clear coating is a great choice for decking, providing a natural look as it repels water and gives added protection. Prefinished Accoya decking adds color that can be maintained regularly, or left to weather gracefully to a gray patina. Accoya Color Grey decking is dyed from surface to core, providing an option with even less maintenance.

Soffits & Ceilings
Selecting wood as a ceiling or soffit material lends depth and warmth to a design. The versatility of this material allows it to be used on an interior ceiling extending to the soffit, which easily accomplishes the rising trend of indoor/outdoor living. All of our products perform well in this application, providing a low maintenance solution with plenty of design
possibilities. North American softwoods like Hemlock, Cypress, Douglas Fir, and Pine are ideal for soffits and ceilings. Lunawood's 3D profiles enhance texture and dimension. Accoya, Mojave Thermally Modified Wood, and Cedar offer versatility, performing well in ceilings and soffits, and extending seamlessly to exterior cladding.
