Curbs are sure to be cluttered in South Delta this weekend with Spring Clean-Up just around the corner. Many residents will take advantage of the annual program that temporarily waives normal garbage volume limits to do some spring cleaning. This year’s clean-up days are set for Monday, April 13 in Tsawwassen and Tuesday, April 14 in Ladner. Spring Clean-Up is being held the following week in North Delta. There are some restrictions to what can be left at the curb, including the amount of garbage set out cannot exceed a pick-up truck load. Accepted items include furniture, most large appliances, scrap metal as well as miscellaneous household items that have been bagged or bundled. Scrap metal will be picked up after the non-recyclable items. There are a number of items not accepted for collection, including mattresses and box springs, light fixtures, tires, liquids of any type, home electronics, glass, construction material and more. Many of the items not accepted during Spring Clean-Up are recyclable. For more information about recycling options, call 604-RECYCLE. For more information about Spring Clean-Up, visit www. delta.ca, call 604-946-3260 or email engineering@delta.ca.
