Departures
At the end of the 2022-23 school year, Science Department Chair Ruthann Pinkos and Tech Ed Teacher Ted Goeres retired.
In addition, English Chair Nancy Duffy P’13, P’19 and Business/ Information Technology/Math Teacher Ryan Grogg ’00 announced that they would be moving on from Delone Catholic. Ms. Duffy moving closer to family, and Mr. Grogg returning to a public school position after two years at his alma mater. Prior to these departures, Science Teacher Julie Bowman ’14 left Delone Catholic for a job outside the field of education.
Over the summer, Social Studies Teacher Jennifer Knectmann, World Language Teacher Celia Cuadrado, and Family & Consumer Science Teacher Cora Shields accepted teaching positions at other schools, Math/Science Teacher
Barkley Walter ’08 announced his engagement and accepted a teaching position out of the area, and English Teacher
Meghan Girroir P’14, P’21 seized the opportunity to move closer to her New England roots. Main Office Administrative Assistant Heather Kehr accepted a position teaching third grade at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Gettysburg, Pa.
Delone Catholic is grateful for the indelible impact each of these educators has made over many collective years of faithful service to our Squires, and wish the best for them in their future endeavors.
Changes
Vacating a teaching position on the math faculty, Rev. John Rudolph, Sr. P’22, P’25 has been appointed as the school’s Director of Athletics.
Mr. Matthew Thomas has left his role as Director of Enrollment and Outreach for a new position on the Advancement team as the Director of Community Engagement.
Arrivals
For 2023-24, math and science have been combined into a single department, chaired by Mrs. Candy (Staub) Sneeringer ‘88. The Math and Science Department has welcomed several new and experienced teachers to fill vacancies, as well as an additional science position that has been added to the department. Mrs. Sara (Smith) Aguilar ’10, Ms. Savannah Dawson, and Mrs. Melissa Rectanus joined the Science faculty. Ms. Mary Miller and Ms. Grace Nicosia joined the Math faculty.
Mrs. Mary Martz P’12, P’14, P’17, P’19, P’22, P’26, P’27, who served as a long-term substitute in 2022-23, has been hired as a permanent member of the Sacred Studies faculty.
In the humanities disciplines, Ms. Elizabeth Brennan and Ms. Gabi Cranga ’17 have joined the English faculty, Ms. Emmanuelle Dougé, the World Languages faculty, and Mr. Aaron Urbanski, the Social Studies faculty.
In the fine and practical arts, Delone Catholic welcomes Tech Ed Teacher Tim Tracey. For the fall semester, Ms. Amber Smith will be student teaching in Family & Consumer Science, with cooperating teacher Mrs. Joan Hammond. Ms. Smith will officially join the faculty upon her graduation from Messiah University in December.
Mrs. Amy (Bell) Miller ’05 has joined the Advancement team as the Director of Enrollment, and Mrs. Kathy Sheerer P’22 has assumed the role of Main Office Administrative Assistant.
Delone Catholic thanks these individuals for heeding God’s call to the ministry of Catholic education and looks forward to the contributions they will make as members of the school community.
