Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends of Delone Catholic High School,

It is a great privilege to share with you the remarkable achievements of our school community over the past year. For the first time, we are presenting the Honor Roll of Donors as part of an annual report, designed to highlight the many ways the entire Delone Catholic family comes together to prepare our students for lives of faith and service wherever God calls them to go. This annual report is a testament to the dedication, generosity, and unwavering support of our alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends.

The Class of 2024, our 84th graduating class, has left its stamp on our long and storied history, providing their successors with an example and inspiration for continued achievement. Nearly 90 percent of the class will continue its education beyond Delone Catholic, and its members were awarded a combined total of more than $12.4 million in scholarships and awards to make this possible. A quarter of the class took advantage of guaranteed admissions and merit scholarships at Delone Catholic’s nearly 30 partner colleges and universities. They accomplished all of this while performing nearly 9,700 hours of service to school, Church, and community, exceeding the minimum requirements by almost 45 percent.

Outside the classroom, our students wowed audiences with musical performances by the Marching Band, and numerous other bands, choirs, and ensembles in the Christmas and Spring Concerts. The Theatre Program gave outstanding showings in You Can’t Take it With You and Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. Several members of the Speech and Debate team competed at the state championships. On the fields and courts, our Squires and Squirettes continued to excel with championships and program firsts throughout the year.

Your investments have been instrumental in shaping the vibrant and enriching educational experience we offer our students. Through your generous support, we have been able to provide more tuition assistance than ever before to help remove cost as a barrier to a Delone Catholic education, as well as recruit and retain talented faculty and staff, and continue to provide safety and academic enhancements.

We are deeply grateful for your partnership in building a stronger Delone Catholic High School. Your belief in our mission empowers us to cultivate young minds, foster spiritual growth, and inspire a lifelong commitment to service. As we look ahead, we are excited about the opportunities to further enhance our programs and facilities. We ask for your continued prayers and partnership with Delone Catholic.

87% of the Class of 2024 will attend college or university.

2% will attend a trade school. 5% will serve in the military. 6% will join the workforce.

25% of the Class of 2024 will attend one of Delone Catholic’s nearly 30 partner colleges and universities, having earned guaranteed admission and a merit scholarship.

Colleges, universities, and other organizations have offered the Class of 2024 more than $12,467,620 in scholarships. 62% of graduates have been offered scholarships.

66% of the Class of 2024 graduatedwith a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

51% of the Class of 2024 took one or more Advanced Placement® courses and 24% of those students earned AP Scholar® awards from The College Board®.

24% of those students earned AP® Scholar Awards.

12% of the Class of 2024 completed an internship during high school.

1% of the Class of 2024 completed a vocational program during high school.

70% of the Class of 2024 were inducted into at least one academic honor society.*

The Class of 2024 has reported more than 9,683 hours of service to school, church, and community.

The Class of 2024 has brought four plays and two musicals to the stage: Bethel Park Falls, Seussical: The Musical, Clue, Romeo and Juliet, You Can’t Take it with You, and Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.

The Class of 2024’s athletic achievements include several District 3 titles and YAIAA division championships. As members of the baseball, golf, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and girls’ tennis teams, they advanced further into district and state playoff action than any of those teams had in school history.

The 1940 Society

Leaders emerged to ensure Catholic education would continue for McSherrystown and the surrounding communities after a fire destroyed Central Catholic High School. Following their example, leaders have generously upheld this legacy, thus allowing, Delone Catholic High School to advance its mission creating disciples who are prepared to lead, prepared to serve, and prepared for life since 1940. In celebration of 75 years of leadership, The 1940 Society was established at the outset of the 2014-15 fiscal year. Membership is open to all individuals, companies, and foundations making annual gifts of $1,000 or more. We are so very fortunate that these leaders continue to step forward and support Delone Catholic at these levels.

The Seton Society

The Seton Society recognizes individuals who, through planned and estate gifts, have made a significant commitment to Delone Catholic High School. The Society shows Delone Catholic’s eternal gratitude to those whose philanthropic support ensures that future generations will graduate as “Doers of the Word”.

As the founder of the concept and the Patron Saint of Catholic Schools, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton holds an important place at Delone Catholic – so much so that she has been chosen as the Patroness of Delone Catholic. All who come through the school’s main entrance pass under a statue depicting the first native-born American Saint, serving as a reminder of her ability to intercede on behalf of the school’s students, faculty, alumni and friends.

Since its founding, Delone Catholic has been the beneficiary of great support from countless individuals. Members of The Society create a legacy that extends their generosity into the future with the confidence that the assets they have created during their lifetime will continue to support work they find meaningful. Often, this can be done with little or no current financial impact to the individual while allowing them to have a profound impact on countless lives.

The first members of The Society are those whose generous gifts have been realized through bequests and other planned giving vehicles following their passing. Acknowledging that this list is likely incomplete, we thank them for their great belief in Delone Catholic and pray that these good works have gone with them.

The mutually beneficial partnership between Delone Catholic High School and the business community is in concert with Delone Catholic's purpose of preparing students to become leaders in whichever vocation they are called to serve.

The Squires’ Guild, established in 2023, is an association of businesses that provide financial and professional support for the academic and extracurricular programs of Delone Catholic High School and its students in the pursuit of excellence.

Businesses can support Delone Catholic students with opportunities for career exploration and workforce development, as well as financial support for the academic and extracurricular programs offered by the school.
