KAELA BERG
Kaela Berg is running for Congress to make life more affordable for Minnesotans. There aren’t enough people in Washington who truly know what it’s like to work and still struggle to afford rent and groceries. Kaela does.
Learn more inside about why working families across Minnesota are standing with Kaela Berg.

KAELA BERG
ONE OF US
When the Minnesota state legislature is not in session, Kaela Berg can be found in the skies, working a regional Delta route out of Minneapolis.
She’s been a flight attendant since 2003. Three terms in the State House and, now, a run for Congress hasn’t changed that. She’s a single mom of two sons, living in a Burnsville one-bedroom apartment, because that’s what she can afford on a flight attendant’s salary.
“Even as a state legislator, I still live paycheck to paycheck,” she told The Guardian. “I’ve gone without healthcare during the pandemic because I didn’t qualify through my employer.”

When Kaela says she understands the struggles of working families—working multiple jobs just to make ends meet, barely affording even the basics—she means it.
Her path to politics came through her union. Shortly after becoming a flight attendant, Kaela got involved with the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, quickly rising through the ranks to serve as Interim President of her local chapter. It’s here where she learned how to advocate for and win policies that actually make a difference for working families.

She took this experience with her to the State House in 2020, where she has since fought to fully fund schools, prevent gun violence, protect healthcare, and end union busting.
Kaela is the pro-worker candidate we need in Washington fighting for our families.

WHAT LABOR IS SAYING ABOUT KAELA
WHAT KAELA’S ACCOMPLISHED FOR WORKING PEOPLE
She Fought for Families, Not Corporate Interests
Kaela co-sponsored the Protect Reproductive Options Act, which codified the right to reproductive freedom in the Minnesota Constitution. She also voted to crack down on hospital monopolies after a proposed merger threatened to close Minnesota hospitals and lay off workers.

She Put Workers First
As Assistant DFL Leader in the Minnesota House, Kaela wrote the law banning union-busting tactics. Big Business sued to overturn it, but the law survived. She has fought for unemployment benefits for striking workers. She made sure flight crews were covered under Minnesota’s earned sick and safe time law. She also wrote the Buy Clean and Buy Fair Minnesota Act, which moved the state toward cleaner, American-made concrete, steel, and asphalt for our bridges and roads.
She Showed Up on the Picket Line
In 2020, Kaela joined healthcare workers on strike and stood with home care workers negotiating their contract in 2023. In 2024, she walked the line with her fellow flight attendants, demanding better pay and joined construction workers rallying for job site safety and prevailing wage.

Kaela is running for Congress to change who Washington works for. Life in Minnesota has gotten too expensive, and the people in charge aren’t doing anything about it. Kaela will lower everyday costs, crack down on corporate price gouging, and make billionaires pay their fair share.
“
As a legislator, [Kaela] has helped make Minnesota a leader in worker empowerment. As a member of Congress, Kaela will bring working people together and deliver real solutions to the challenges we face.”

“ “
Kaela understands the pressure families are under as costs keep rising while corporations rake in record profits. We need more working-class fighters like Kaela Berg in Congress who know the dignity of hard work and aren’t afraid to take on corporate greed and a rigged system that leaves working people behind.”

Kaela is a union member herself and has always stood with workers, which is why we know she’ll bring the same fight for working families to Washington.”
