Knee Arthroscopy is helpful only in early Arthritis especially if the patient is having mechanical symptoms. Sometimes, in Osteoarthritis, there is ‘Meniscus Tear’ or ‘Loose bodies’ which causes a locking sensation. In locking sensation, Arthroscopy is helpful. Otherwise in advanced Arthritis, Arthroscopy doesn't work. Then one has to go for other procedures like Knee Replacement.
Ans) Stair climbing does not make knee Arthritis worse. But if you have knee Arthritis then you will find it difficult to climb the stairs. It may aggravate your pain and symptoms. But it does not make Arthritis worse. The pain due to Arthritis may become worse but Arthritis remains the same.
Ans) Many of the Osteoarthritis patients also have Meniscus tears. This meniscus tear can sometimes cause swelling behind the back of the knee, that can cause CALF – PAIN.
