UNDERSTANDING THE SYMBOLS
DELCO FOODS SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT OFFERINGS Biodegradable Product is capable of being broken down by biological microorganisms without being harmful to the environment.
Compostable Product will degrade naturally over time into organic materials rich in nutrients good for the soil. Must be disposed of with other compostable items. As an example, PLA products, bagasse and most natural fiber based products can be composted, but have to be disposed of separately from non compostable product and delivered to a composting facility.
Recyclable Product can be recycled. Recycled product reduces the environmental impact by reusing precious natural resources. As an example, natural colored paper disposables are often made from 100% recycled material.
Reusable Product can be used more than once. Use materials more than once in their original form instead of throwing them away after each use. Reuse keeps new resources from being used for a while longer, and old resources from entering the waste stream.
