Delbarton offers approximately $3.5 million in financial aid every year to eligible families.

I won't qualify for financial aid.

Approximately 23% of Delbarton students receiving financial aid are from families with household incomes over $200,000 a year.

I can’t afford the school application fee.

Myth: Fact:

We are happy to waive the school application fee for every family applying for financial aid.

Myth: You need a special talent or

Myth: Aid involves work-study

Myth: Applying for financial aid is

Applying for aid can be accomplished in a single sitting on our website Delbarton.org.

n Fact:

There are a lot of hidden expenses besides tuition which are not covered by financial aid.

Myth: n Fact:

Delbarton tuition is virtually allinclusive. Books and transportation, however, are the two main costs not included in tuition.

Yet for those families who qualify for full-tuition aid, even these expenses could be picked up

by Delbarton.

Myth: I may not receive financial

aid for all the years my son is enrolled.

n Fact:

Unless there is a significant change in your financial situation or in your son’s academic or disciplinary record, the financial aid package stays with families for the years they are with us. To confirm eligibility, however, we are required to have families receiving financial aid to re-apply each year they are enrolled.

Note: Delbarton does not offer financial aid to its Middle School (7th and 8th grade) families.

n Fact:

Myth: Applying for aid hurts my

son’s chance of being accepted to Delbarton.

n Fact:

Our admissions process is equitable and conducted separately from the financial aid process. An independent agency TADS determines each family’s need based on data provided directly from the families themselves. The online financial aid process is conducted securely, discreetly, and confidentially.

APPLY EARLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Fortunately, Delbarton usually is able to meet the Demonstrated Financial Need of families accepted to the school. To maximize your chances of receiving aid, however, we strongly recommend that families complete the financial aid application as early as possible.

Please check website for exact dates: Late November: Deadline to start the online School application for 7th and 9th grade admissions.

Mid December: Deadline to complete the Financial Aid and School Applications.

Mid-January: Notfication of Admission Decisions and Financial Aid Awards.

for financial aid but still needs assistance, there are no options available to us.

A variety of borrowing and payment programs are available. Contact our Business Office (973-538-3231 X3042) for referrals to programs intended to help parents afford an independent school education for their children.
