How to Celebrate National Estuaries Week? Let Us Count the Ways.

National Estuaries Week is Sept. 20 to 27 and PDE has the time packed with live and online activities, plus things to look forward to in the days ahead.

1. Be a Social Butterfly. Check out our social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn that show photos of all the work our crew does throughout the year for clean waters, healthy habitats, and strong communities in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Our handle is @DelawareEstuary.

2. Grow a Green Thumb. Learn how to garden with native plants by attending one of two workshops on Sept. 23 and Sept. 24 at Scout Cafe

in Wilmington. No registration is required. Visit delawareestuary.org/event/gardening-for-clean-water.

3. Have Some Fun! This Saturday, Sept. 27, head to Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia and Wiggins Park in Camden for the 2025 Delaware River Festival for tons of FREE family fun!

4. Test your knowledge. Think you know a thing or two about nature or the Delaware Estuary? Have some fun and put your knowledge to the test with our quizzes. Look for them on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Our handle is @DelawareEstuary.

5. Stay Tuned. A new White Paper is coming soon — featuring fresh insights on signature fish species in the Delaware Estuary.

6. Sign Up. Sign up for one of two public oyster shell bagging events taking place this fall. We have one set for Oct. 4 in Philadelphia and one happening Nov. 1 in Wilmington. Join the crew and help us prep shells for future use in shoreline restoration. Visit delawareestuary.org/event/bagshell.

7. Catch Up on News. The latest edition of Estuary News is hot off the press. If you’re a subscriber, open your email or physical mailbox and enjoy the latest copy, or visit our website at delawareestuary.org/publications-2/pdenews.

8. Get Tickets. Time is running out to get your tickets for the Experience the Estuary Celebration with PDE. Join hundreds of our closest friends and supporters on our biggest night of the year for drinks, dinner, music, and more. Visit delawareestuary.org/news-and-events/fundraiser.

9. Give us your opinion. Look for our social media poll on Facebook and Instagram that asks which outdoor activity you prefer.
