How Memorial Donations Impact Current Students

After the death of Bill Louwers (‘52) in August, his daughter, Kathy Roos contacted President John M. Knight to let him know the family wanted donations in Bill’s memory to De La Salle. She also asked that those donations be used by DLS to help with the tuition of a student who might otherwise not be able to attend DLS because her father so loved the school. Coincidentally, that day Mr. Knight had had a conversation with the grandmother of a student who could no longer afford tuition for her grandson. Mr. Knight told Kathy the donations would be used for this student, now a senior on track to graduate in May 2018. The donations of $4,700 in Bill’s memory made a significant impact on the life of a student at De La Salle.
