Das Praxishandbuch Inklusion in Bibliotheken (S. 3) zeigt die vielen Facetten der Barrierefreiheit in Bibliotheken und wie Inklusion weiter umgesetzt werden kann. Dem Thema Lernen und Inklusion widmet sich der Band Inklusive Lernwelten (S. 6). In der Reihe Dortmunder medienhistorische Beiträge (früher Dortmunder Beiträge zur Zeitungsforschung) erscheinen nach einer längeren Publikationspause drei Neuerscheinungen Medien bewahren und verändern (S. 5), Erkenntnisperspektiven und Methoden der Kommunikations- und Mediengeschichte (S. 5) sowie das Handbuch deutschsprachige Presse Brasiliens (S. 5).

“When every human being is able to join in everywhere, at work, at home, or in their free time: that is inclusion.” According to this definition by Aktion Mensch, inclusion means everybody being able to participate equally and free of discrimination in all areas of society. Libraries play an important role due to the human right to access information, education, and culture. The practical handbook Inklusion in Bibliotheken (Inclusion in Libraries, p. 3) reveals the many facets of accessibility in libraries and how inclusion can be implemented further, while the volume Inklusive Lernwelten (Inclusive Learning Environments) explores the topic of learning and inclusion (p. 6).

Dieser Band untersucht den Neuanfang in Frankfurt am Main bis zur Gründung der BRD.
After Germany capitulated on May 8, 1945, publishers from Leipzig were required to move to the West Zones and set up new book trade structures. In Frankfurt a.M., a new booksellers’ association, exchange association, book fair, and archive library were established. This handbook presents contemporary knowledge about the “letter” as a text type and, through its diverse chapters from various cultural disciplines, is the first to make the dimensions of the epistolary culture that shaped antiquity tangible. The letter, as both a textual and communicative phenomenon, is extensively analyzed through systematic conceptual-history articles and source-based historical case studies.
This collection aims at showing Crete as a cultural center that bridges two close and, at the same time, distant worlds, Byzantium and Western Europe, during a pivotal “Renaissance” period for the island, between the 15th and 16th c. It showcases the viewpoint of nine scholars, whose observations set a wide stage for reflections on places, people, cultural propaganda and power in Venetian Crete, through the prism of books and erudite culture.

Konzeption, Prototyperstellung und Evaluation am Beispiel der Mathematik
In der Mathematik stammen viele Fachwörter aus der Gemeinsprache. Deshalb liegt es nahe als Hilfsmittel beim Arbeiten mit fremdsprachlichen Texten gemeinsprachliche Wörterbücher zu nutzen. Diese decken aber oft nicht die mathematischen Lesarten eines Worts ab. Auch didaktisch evaluierte Fachwörterbücher gibt es für die Mathematik bisher nicht. Hier wird daher ein Prototyp für ein e-Wörterbuch der Mathematik entwickelt und evaluiert.
A lot of technical terms in mathematics come from standard language, which is why it makes sense to use general dictionaries when working with foreign-language texts. However, these dictionaries often do not cover the specific mathematical meaning of words. Moreover, no didactically evaluated technical dictionaries exist for mathematics. This project develops and evaluates a prototype for an e-dictionary of mathematics.

Pergament oder Papier? Ab 1100 hatten die Menschen in Italien, ab der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts auch nördlich der Alpen die Wahl zwischen diesen Beschreibstoffen. Folgt man ihren Äußerungen, so bevorzugten sie die traditionelle Tierhaut. Unter der Hand der Schreibenden setzte sich jedoch in breiter Front Papier durch. Die Studie analysiert diese stille Umwälzung quantitativ wie qualitativ und sucht nach den Ursachen für ihre Lautlosigkeit.
Parchment or paper? The choice between these two writing materials was available to people in Italy from 1100, to those north of the Alps from the thirteenth century. If we take them by their word, they preferred the traditional animal skin. But in the hands of writers, paper took over on a broad front. This study analyzes the quiet revolution quantitatively and qualitatively, and investigates why it was so silent.
