HORSE SPOTLIGHT
Penny
Meet Penny! Her racing name is Nantucket Breeze and she had 9 starts with one placing! Go Penny! She’s now enjoying her leisurely life as a light riding horse. Penny came in from Queen Anne’s County in 2024 and was lucky enough to receive 6 months of training with our friends at Equine Welfare Society in Keswick, VA in 2025. She’s now in a training program with DEFHR trainers.
Her nicknames are Skipper and Sniffer as she kind of hops/skips into the trot and she likes to sniff EVERYTHING! Whether it is your lead rope, your hand, the ground, the stick…it doesn’t matter…she has to investigate, take her time sniffing it and at times, doing the flehmen response.
She has the most beautiful markings on her face and the most luxurious forelock.
We are enjoying getting to know this cutie pie and preparing her for her next home! Keep cheering Penny on so she can find her person soon!
