Once upon a time, in a special place called Deer Park, Texas, Christmas was a magical time. People loved to celebrate with Texas flags and fun activities. The best time of all was when they got to decorate for Christmas!

Deer Park had its own special reindeer.

His name was Tex, and he was made of sparkles and lights. Tex was tall and shiny, with a big Texas flag for a nose!

His nose was special because Deer Park is the Birthplace of Texas .

North Pole Express

Right next to Tex, was a special little house where big things happened! It was called Patrick’s Cabin. A long time ago, brave people met at the cabin and talked about the future of Texas. This is a reminder of the brave Texans w fought for our freedom at the Batt San Jacinto. It was like a magic ca where dreams came true!

Kids named Lucy, Tom, and Maria wanted to help decorate Tex and the town.

Lucy loved snowflakes.

Tom wanted a big, bright star.

Maria liked sparkly candy canes.

When it was time to decorate, everyone worked together. They put up shiny snowflakes, a big, bright star, and lots of candy canes. Tex looked amazing with all the lights! Patrick's Cabin was shiny and bright too.

Tex the Reindeer and Patrick’s Cabin

united the town’s love for their history and community in the Birthplace of Texas, making memories that would twinkle as brightly as Tex, forever.

see y’all next year!

Tex’s tale

Tex the Reindeer's story began with a holiday dream. The Deer Park Christmas Decorating Committee envisioned a magical light display to delight the community. They partnered with Dekra-lite to bring this vision to life. Dekra-lite crafted the enchanting tale of Tex, a reindeer whose spirit of Christmas would shine brightly. The story captivated the City Council, and Tex became a treasured symbol of holiday cheer for Deer Park. We hope Tex brings joy and wonder to your family for years to come.

original story

In Deer Park, Texas, where the stars shine bright, a special reindeer was born one night.

With a nose so unique, so wondrous and grand, It shone red, blue, and had a white star—it was the brightest Texas star in the land.

Tex was his name, he was not like the rest, his magical nose put to the test.

Word spread around about Tex’s bright glow,

From Houston to Dallas, people wanted to know.

They traveled far, both young and old,

To see the reindeer of the stories they were told.

Up in the North, Santa heard too,

About the reindeer with colors so true.

“I must meet Tex,” Santa declared with glee. “For a special task, just he and me.”

Deer Park sparkled, excitement in the air, Texan flags here and Texas stars there.

A tree decorated like Texas, so tall and bright, Stood in the park, a wonderful sight. Santa arrived with a jolly "Ho, Ho!"

In Deer Park’s Christmas Town, with the tree aglow.

“Tex,” he exclaimed, “with your nose so fine, won’t you guide my sleigh in Texas, tonight” . ”
