Bird Watching at the Battlefield; 7:00am – 9:00am; FREE

Every first Saturday of the month, we open two hours early so birders and photographers can enjoy early morning at the site. Location: San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site

Texas Revolution Touch Table; drop in between 12:00pm– 3:00pm; Included with the price of admission to the San Jacinto Museum

Stop by the San Jacinto Museum for a chance to play with replicas of 19thcentury toys, weapons, tools, food, clothing, and much more. Location: San Jacinto Museum

Cycling Saturday; 7:00am – 9:00am; FREE

Every second Saturday of the month, we open the site two hours early just for cyclists. Come and bike the Birthplace of Texas without worrying about cars. Location: San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site

Battleground Bike Tour; 1:30pm – 3:30pm; FREE

Stretch your legs and honor the memory of the Texas Revolution with a guided bike tour of the battleground. Location: Meet in front of the San Jacinto Monument by the flag poles

SEPTEMBER 11, 2022

Battleground Van Tour; tours are one hour and start at 11:45am, 12:45pm, 1:45pm & 2:45pm; FREE

Discover the San Jacinto Battleground like you ' ve never seen it before on a staff-led van tour of the battlefield. Tours start shortly after the showing of Texas Forever!! Location: Gather in the main lobby of the San Jacinto Monument. Ask at the ticket kiosk to sign up.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2022

Foraging San Jacinto; 9:00am – 12:00pm; $75 per person

Foraging expert Dr. Mark “Merriwether” Vorderbruggen of Foraging Texas will lead a guided walk at the Battleground and teach participants how to find and identify wild edible plants. Location: San Jacinto Battleground

To Scour the Gulf: The Story of the First Texas Navy; drop in between 11:00am – 2:00pm; Included with the price of admission to the San Jacinto Museum.

Learn about the first Texas Navy and the role it played in winning the Texas Revolution. There will be a fun, hands-on activity for kids as well. Location: San Jacinto Battleground

History Under the Star – The First Texas Revolution: Tejanos and the Mexican War of Independence; 5:00pm – 7:00pm; $5 per person/$3 per museum member; students are FREE.

Lecture with renown historian Dr. Jesús "Frank" de la Teja on the role the Battle of Medina played on Tejano identity during the Mexican period and on their behavior when Revolution broke out again in October of 1835 Location: San Jacinto Museum
