JOIN US FOR OUR 44TH SEASON WHERE WE’LL PRESENT; A HILARIOUS NEW FARCE, TWO GOLDEN AGE BROADWAY MUSICALS, AND THE SOUTHEAST PREMIERE OF A NEW AMERICAN MUSICAL FROM THE COMPOSER OF WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, JEFF THOMSON, AND BOOK BY ONE OF HOLLYWOOD'S HOTTEST NEW SCREENWRITERS AND DIRECTORS, CHRISTY HALL.
Derived from the Latin octo, meaning eight, October’s name is a fascinating historical remnant. This might seem confusing since it’s the tenth month in our current Gregorian calendar.
It’s a fascinating calendar trivia that October always ends on the same day of the week as February of the same year. So, for instance, if February 28, 2023, falls on a Tuesday, then October 31, 2023, will also be on a Tuesday.
October 2, 1925 marks a groundbreaking moment in technological history. It was during this month that the first electronic television was invented.

The reviews are in and it’s a hit! El Jalisciense Mexican Restaurant is now open at 2428 Center Street in Deer Park (former location of Las Hadas restaurant). They are open 7:00am to 9:00pm daily and feature a full breakfast menu. They also have bottled beer, margaritas and tequila shots. The owners are Antonio and Sandra Navarro, who were born and raised from Jesus Maria, Jalisco (motherland of the majority production of Tequila). The family has over 25 years of restaurant experience in our area, and customers are raving about the menu (especially the fajitas).
You can see the full menu at www.eljalisciensedeerp.wixsite.com/eljalisciense or call them at (281) 479-8596.
The Collective is an art center now open at 214 Center Street (next door to Marc Lefkowitz, DDS at the intersection of Center St. and 2nd St.) They offer guitar and songwriting classes (group and individual), art exhibitions, live music performances and more. "At the Collective art gallery, our mission is to bring joy and love to our Deer Park community and beyond. We believe in providing a platform for emerging artists and creating a welcoming space for all. " The owners are current and former educators Danny & Ashleigh Painter and Brock & Michelle Wilson. Don’t miss their next show October 7 at 6:17pm with Cactus Flowers (with The Painters). Visit their website for ticket info at www.thecollectiveartspace.com or call them at (713) 724-0319.
