THE EXPERIENCE
from The Kaleidoscope Exhibition
by Deji
IN THE BEGINNING, IT WAS BLACK
Blankness and blackness is how most things begin. The first colour a child is exposed to in the womb is blackness We are all believed to begin life as tabula rasas. While some might see this as bleak, we see endless possibilities. The opportunity to create and be formed without restraints, limitations or rules

This is how we open the exhibition, in the blackness and blankess of possibilities.
Right after this, we will bare our audience to their first glimpse of colour, an endless loop of gradients and colours brilliantly contorting and forming on a digital screen. Just as peace cannot be appreciated without chaos, we believe colours cannot be appreciated without blackness As our audience enjoys this first glance, we will also engage their senses of smell with the irresistable aromas of red, orange, mustard, yellow, green, teal, blue, cobalt, violet and indigo, dispelling the notion that colours are only to be experienced through sight At this point, we will begin to engage their hearing with a voice-over that poetically delves into the essence of the exhibition.
As we engage them in the darkness, a glimmer of light shines hesitantly at first, crescendoing into a brilliant and bold shimmer that spotlights each individual piece of the kaleidoscope, declaring the exhibition open. But the delight doesn’t end here. Each artwork comes with a hidden surprise. A treat for the ears in the form of a musical playlist of 3- 4 songs that opens a whole new world of experiencing the artwork beyond sight and touch.
