Split, fill, and stack 4, 8 inch cake layers on a 10 inch board.

Leave plastic wrap on the skirt, insert doll feet first into center of cake.

Use #127 rose tip and lightest color buttercream to create the top ruffle.

Place the doll next to the cake to measure the cake height. If cake height does not reach Barbie’s hip, add another 8 inch. cake layer. Using a knife and a cutting glove, trim the stacked layers to form a bell shaped bottom. Crumb ice the cake with the lightest shade of desired color buttercream. In the darkest shade of desired color buttercream, use #852 star tip to create two rows of rosettes. In the remaining shades of buttercream, use #852 star tip to create three more shades of rosette layers (2 rows per color), going from darkest to lightest shade.

Recipe for the Neon Pink shades: 3 cups icing per color. Darkest color 23 drops, 9 drops, 5 drops, and lightest 2 drops. Recipe for the Royal Blue shades: 3 cups icing per color.
