Mackenthun’s Fine Foods began using The Magic of Cakes® Kiosk and Cakes.com Online Cake Ordering in 2015. “Our customers love the convenience of ordering when and where they want. This solution provides them with the ability to order even when a cake decorator isn’t available or from the convenience of their own home.” says Christianson. And, Mackenthun’s Fine Foods is also seeing other benefits. While the bakery business continues to grow, the number of paper orders taken by the cake decorators has decreased to just 40% of total orders. This means increased capacity because cake decorators have more time to decorate. Additionally, Christianson says there are also fewer errors. “Customers are entering the message to be put on the cake themselves, reducing mistakes. And, because of the email order confirmation, if it’s wrong, they call to correct it,” he says. Printing out orders has gone from several minutes an order to several orders in minutes, saving even more time. In February, DecoPac launched new user defined fields that allow bakeries to add their own unique cake flavors, fillings and icing flavors, as well as “additional charge” pricing for those options in order to help bakeries further leverage the software to grow their business. “We are very excited to leverage the user defined fields.
