My work pursues abstract expression through the assemblage of paper and thread -- pulling shapes and colors from my own photography, and using them in a similar way to paint. Multiple pieces are layered and sewn together in a quilt-like manner, building a foundation of color. Springing from sensory experience or visual observation, I intuitively draw on the surface with thread, responding to the energy of the piece
