Dean College Honors Dr. Paula M. Rooney With Naming of the Campus Center

Friends, family, alumni, donors and members of the Dean Community gathered for a celebratory event on May 17, 2022, to honor Dr. Rooney for her tremendous leadership and service to Dean College over the past 27 years as the 13th President of Dean College.

At the event, Chair of the Dean College Board of Trustees Mark D. Boyce announced that Dean’s Campus Center will be renamed the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center in her honor.

“ The central point of campus—this building, known as the Campus Center— is the place where students take classes, perform, study, eat, hang out, celebrate at awards ceremonies, are welcomed at Discover Dean Days and where we all line up for the Commencement procession,” said Boyce. “This building will from today forward be named the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center.”

Dr. Rooney worked diligently to advance the College and support Dean’s national recognition for The Dean Difference—the College’s distinct hands-on model for student success. This commitment to student success will live on with her and within the community that she has built. As current and future students gather in the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center, their experiences at Dean will forever be marked by the impact Dr. Rooney has made as President.
