A Warm Welcome A warm welcome back at the start of this summer term, and let’s hope the adjective ‘warm’ will really be applicable! I hope that you have had a great Easter and are now looking forward to the long summer months ahead.

There is, as ever, a wide range of events taking place this term, culminating in Commem at the senior school and Prize Day at the prep school, where we can celebrate some of the fantastic achievements of our pupils.

I would particularly like to invite you to join me at the Ascension Day communion under the Willow tree. All members of the Dean Close Community will be very welcome.

We celebrate our many connections with the armed forces in a fascinating exhibition ‘Not just a wife’, which explores the experiences and achievements of spouses of those who serve, opening on the 22nd May in the Orangery of the Bacon Theatre.

I am also looking forward to the many events across the Foundation marking the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day. The Senior School drama department is putting on a production of ‘Oh What a Lovely War’ on Sunday 17th June and I’m sure it will prove to be a very entertaining performance, in the idyllic setting of the Tuckwell Theatre.

I hope we will have the opportunity to meet in the near future.
