It has come to D&D Technologies’ attention that counterfeit copies of its MagnaLatch® ‘Side Pull’ latch are still being offered in the Australian market.

Be aware that these copies of our proprietary, patented latches are being passed off as genuine D&D products!

The danger is these counterfeit latches do NOT carry D&D’s assurances of quality and reliability. In fact, because most Side Pulls find their way onto glass swimming pool gates, these counterfeit latches may be dangerous and result in children accessing pool areas.

What’s more, it appears these latch copies are cheaply made in countries by manufacturers who care little for quality control, the science of polymer or spring technology or the profound results of failing gates.

As most of you would appreciate, D&D Technologies has spent millions of dollars developing its Australian designed, made and owned gate latches, locks and hinges.

We employ many proud Australians in getting our ISO9001-approved products to market. Counterfeit products may not be independently tested to Australian pool standards AS1926.1-2012. Beware exposing your business to unscrupulous copiers or imitators looking for an easy buck and putting lives at risk.

Here are just some of the dangers presented by these counterfeit latches: • Counterfeits have no etched markings therefore cannot be traced to brand, manufacturer, distributor, date of manufacturer, etc.

• They carry no quality and no performance guarantees • They are made by cheap manufacturers with no regard for quality or safety • They carry no manufacturer Warranty • The inferior or untested product could lead to expensive callbacks for your business (not to mention litigation as a result of a pool or safety accident) • Counterfeit products may not be independently tested to Australian pool standards AS1926.1-2012. In the case of child safety products, counterfeit products can pose safety issues and public lives can be at risk.
