Offeringfinancialresourcestoparishestostaycompetitiveinclergy searchesManydiocesesthroughoutthecountryareofferingsigning bonusesandrelocationpackagestoattractclergy
Providingaccesstoadministrativeassistanceforparishesneeding guidanceongovernance,finances,communications,andmore Expandingopportunitiesforleadershipdevelopmentandlayleader traininginparisheswherehiringaclergypersonisnotcurrentlyfeasible Committingtoastrongrecruitmentandformationprocesstoaddressthe criticalclergyshortageCurrently,thereare450retirementsandonly250 ordinationsperyearacrossTheEpiscopalChurch PlantingnewparishesincommunitiesidentifiedasdiverseandfastgrowingwhereanEpiscopalpresencewillflourish
The $4 million raised during the Equipping the Saints campaign will create an endowment for congregational vitality. A fund of this size will yield approximately $200,000 per year that can be reinvested into our parishes in various ways, including programs like the Renew and Refresh grants, support for clergy searches, leadership development, and planting new parishes. This new endowment will serve our parishes for generations to come.

With$1millionraised,theEquippingtheSaintscapitalcampaignwillmake thefollowingpossible:
RenovationstoGoodShepherdinMontgomery:thisparishholdsarich historythatmakesituniquelysuitedasthehomeforracialhealinginour diocese.Updatingthekitchen,bathrooms,andcommonspaceswillhelp meettheexistingdemandfrompilgrimsandexpanditscapacityasa spaceforholyexperiencesandconversationsthatleadtoracialhealing. Thediocese,GoodShepherdandSt.John’s,Montgomerywilljoin togethertosupportafull-timepriest-in-chargeThispersonwillserve bothparishesanddevelopandcoordinateoureffortsaroundracial healingandpilgrimage

Howwillthiscampaignaffectmyparish? Allparishes,regardlessofsizeorlocation,willbepositivelyimpactedbyasuccessfulcampaign.Some parisheswillreceivedirectsupportthroughgrantsthatwillhelpremovebarrierstogrowth.Other parisheswillsendtheirkidstoSummerCampatCampMcDowellandseetheiryoungpeople transformedbythelessonstheylearninarenewedEppesHall.Andstillotherparisheswilltakepartin pilgrimagestosacredsitesaroundourdiocese,includingGoodShepherdinMontgomery,andfindnew pathwaystoracialhealingalongtheway ThecampaignwillelevatetheprofileoftheDioceseof Alabamaandhelpourparishesattractthebestclergyleadershipforyearstocome.Thereissomething foreveryoneinthewidevisionofthiscampaign,anditwilltoucheverycornerofourdiversediocese.
