KT Cattle Inc. We have been raising horses for over 25 years. We have continued to strive to make our horses better throughout those years. We are very proud of our horses as well as the fact that we have many repeat customers.

All our horses were born and raised in the rocky mountainous terrain south of Tucson.

We try to raise horses with bone, athleticism, cow sense, and just plain sense. We try to raise excellent ranch horses that most have the ability to go to the arena.

All the older riding geldings have all phases of ranch work done on them- dragging lots of calves to the fire, sorting cattle, gathering cattle, catching remnants, and doctoring cattle. They have all been ridden some at Marana Stockyards. We hope you enjoy our horses as much as we do and have. We started raising Gelbvieh bulls last year after Chris Markes retired and wanted to sell his cows. We had been buying bulls from him for a number of years. The Gelbvieh breed has a number of good characteristics- moderate cow size, maternal instincts, low birth weights, and excellent milkers which makes for exceptional weaning weights.

We are selling these bulls the way we like to buy them- not fed up and young so they don’t get sore footed and are able to grow up in the environment they are required to live in. We feel they adjust and adapt better this way.

Welcome to the 2 Annual Horse and Gelbvieh Bull and Replacement Heifer Sale. We at Pratt Farms are proud to team up with the fine folks at KT Cattle Inc. and offer you some of the best horse and Gelbvieh genetics to be found in southern Arizona.

Here at Pratt Farms, we began in the Gelbvieh business in 1990 with the purchase of 6 heifers from Valhala Ranch of Colorado. We bred artificially for 14 years using the best genetics available, which had low birth weights coupled with outstanding growth traits. Since then we have been breeding mostly natural sires from Judd Ranch, Jumping Cow Gelbvieh, and Prairie Hills Gelbvieh.

Pratt Farms is proud to offer you 10 bulls and 5 Gelbvieh X Brahman F1 Heifers. From the ground up these bulls are built solid, have adequate testicular development, and are well muscled and long sided. Look for these bulls to sire calves that package together easily, whether you are selling steers, finishing for slaughter or retaining an awesome group of replacement females. At each stage of the livestock process our objectives are to produce eye appealing cattle that are high yielding and fertile. The F1 females are sired by one of my high marbling index bulls, which translates into easy keeping, fertile animals. We stand behind each animal and guarantee it to be productive. Reference Sires Teddygo Jones 1979 Grey Dustys Blue Haven was well liked as a performance horse sire in northwest Oklahoma. We rode several colts out of Teddy while Mike Spicer owned him. We were able to buy him from Haythorn Land & Cattle in his later years. His colts had ability, cow sense and lots of speed.

Handle has a lot of cow and ability.

He has lots of stamina and absolutely no quit. He has a smooth trot but a rough lope. Average speed and will really pull. He has had a blue spot in his left eye since he was a baby.

Sugar’s mother was run over and killed when she was a baby. It crippled her in the shoulder at the time, so she was never started under saddle. She seems to be ok now. She’s had three foals and is bred to our black stud Lil Night Deposit for a 2020 foal.

Overflow will watch a cow pretty good. He won 2nd at the 2019 Arizona Nationals Ranch Horse Competition. He has had about 15 head of steers turned on him in the arena last year. He is willing to try or do anything with speed ability and sense. If you rush him on the ground he can be a little watchy. If we could change anything about him it would be to put a little better withers on him.
