ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Mission of the Foundation The mission of Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) is to connect wine enthusiasts to raise money benefiting children in need in Northwest Florida. Founded in 2005, DCWAF has donated over $38 million to Northwest Florida charities by hosting world-class wine and culinary events. These funds have impacted the lives of over 100,000 youth, including those afflicted by health issues and abuse. DCWAF has been recognized as one of the nation’s “Top 10 Charity Wine Auctions in the U.S.” by Wine Spectator Magazine for more than a decade.

Thoughts From the Chairman Dear Friends and Supporters, What a remarkable milestone our 20th anniversary turned out to be. Amidst a year of economic twists, an election cycle, and shifting global headwinds, uncertainty was everywhere—but our mission remained steady. Through it all, our dedicated team never wavered, continuing to work tirelessly on behalf of children in need across Northwest Florida. This past year, we made a concerted effort to diversify our auction offerings by introducing boutique packages designed for couples and smaller groups. Our hope was to create exciting opportunities that would inspire generous bidding while offering memorable experiences—all in support of a greater cause: changing the lives of children in our community. Looking to the future, we’ve also begun laying the groundwork for an endowment that will help sustain our mission for the next 20 years and beyond. This vision for long-term impact will carry forward into our 21st year as we continue to grow and evolve. It’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come. When this organization began in 2005, we were a small but passionate group—13 board members supporting 3 local charities, raising $80,000 in our first year. Today, we are 26 board members strong, supporting 17 incredible charities, and have raised over $38 million right here in our beloved Florida Panhandle.

Thoughts From the President Dear Friends and Supporters, As I reflect on the 2024–2025 fiscal year, I’m filled with immense gratitude and pride for all that we’ve accomplished together. This past year was one of reflection, celebration, and continued momentum for the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation as we marked an extraordinary milestone—20 years of changing the lives of children in Northwest Florida. Our 20th Annual Destin Charity Wine Auction was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and generosity. Together, we raised $3.5 million, which allowed us to make a profound impact on the lives of children and families across our region. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the passion and dedication of our supporters, vintners, chefs, sponsors, and volunteers who continue to bring our mission to life. As we celebrated two decades of giving, we paused to honor our Founders - visionaries who believed that good wine and good will could make a meaningful difference. Their vision in 2005 has grown into one of the nation’s top charity wine auctions with countless stories of how the funds have affected the lives of children. Thanks to your generosity, we have distributed more than $38 million to local children’s charities, funding programs that provide everything from early education and health care to housing, mental health support, and crisis intervention. These grants translate to tangible change—new homes for families through Habitat for Humanity, mobile dental care for children through CVHN, healthcare for youth through Point Washington Medical Clinic, continued education through Youth Village and the Emerald Coast Autism Center, essential resources for the most vulnerable through Caring & Sharing of South Walton and Ascension Sacred Heart, and much more. Our Harvest Wine & Food Festival continued to flourish this year, bringing new visitors and energy to our community while supporting our long-term sustainability. The growth of our Legacy Society also ensured that the spirit of giving will extend far beyond our time, creating a foundation for the next generation of philanthropists.

SMALL GRANT PARTNERSHIPS
Broadening our Reach: Introducing our Small Grant Partnership Program As Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation continues to grow, our board and staff are always looking for new ways to expand our impact within the community. In the coming year, we are thrilled to introduce our Small Grant Partnership Program, designed to support smaller nonprofits in need of assistance with a one-time grant up to $25,000. These grants are designed for smaller nonprofits who may not have the resources to participate in DCWAF’s full-scale partnership but are still doing meaningful work for children within the community. Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation has joined the DCWAF family as our first small grant partner. Moving forward, up to four $25,000 grants will be awarded annually to charities that meet the necessary requirements.

FROM A SHARED TABLE TO A LASTING LEGACY: THE FOUNDERS OF DCWAF Every great story begins with a gathering. For the founders of the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, it was a group of friends, wine lovers, community leaders, and visionaries who believed that raising a glass could also raise hope. What began as a simple idea in 2005 has evolved into one of the nation’s top charity wine auctions, raising over $38 million for children’s charities across Northwest Florida. But the foundation’s most remarkable achievement isn’t just financial. It’s deeply human.
A Father’s Legacy At the heart of this founding story is Chan Cox, a man known as much for his generous spirit as his entrepreneurial drive. In 2006, the year DCWAF was officially formed, Chan experienced an unthinkable loss. His 30-year-old son, Clinton, passed away after a long battle with addiction. Rather than retreat into grief, Chan chose to transform that pain into purpose. With the support of his fellow founders, he established the Clinton Cox Memorial Fund through a newly introduced feature of the live auction: the Paddle Raise. This fund became the catalyst for supporting Pathways for Change, a faith-based organization in Pensacola that helps break the cycles of addiction and incarceration. Today, the Paddle Raise is a powerful and emotional annual tradition that reflects the heart and soul of every DCWAF auction weekend.
Vision in Action DCWAF was never just about wine. It was about what wine could do. The founders envisioned a future where fellowship could walk hand in hand with generosity, where an evening of elegance could be the start of year-round impact for children and families in need. Their vision was clear, and their execution was extraordinary. Through thoughtfully curated wine dinners, a world-class auction, and personal donor experiences, they created something rare: a philanthropic engine fueled by joy, built on trust, and driven by meaningful relationships.

The model worked, not only because it was well-designed, but because it was deeply personal. These founders didn’t just give; they gave of themselves. And they inspired others to do the same.
Rooted in Community, Grown for Good Nearly two decades later, DCWAF remains grounded in the same values that brought it to life: friendship, philanthropy, and faith in the power of community. The auction now ranks among Wine Spectator’s Top 10 Charity Wine Auctions in the country and supports 17 local nonprofit partners. The true legacy of our founders isn’t found in rankings or revenue. It lives in the lives of the children who now have access to food, shelter, medical care, mentorship, and education. It thrives among returning patrons who come for the wine and stay for the mission. And it lives in every hand that raises a paddle, not just for a bottle, but for a better future.

Changing the Lives of Children Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation donated $3.1 million to 17 Northwest Florida children’s charities on September 18 at the Hilton Sandestin, marking more than $38 million donated to non-profit organizations serving children in Northwest Florida.

More than 60 Habitat for Humanity houses, a Level II NICU unit, two dental buses, support services for the homeless, abused, and neglected, and countless other lifesaving programs. Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast received $210,000 for fetal monitors, Giraffe warmers, and other equipment to elevate the level of care provided in the Level II NICU.

$210,000 Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast received $250,000 for a two-part program that will provide on-site access to a licensed Mental Health Counselor for youths in mental health crisis, and to subsidize the operational costs of providing youth development programming that will impact more than 200 lowincome youths annually from kindergarten to grade 12 during afterschool and summer months.

Children in Crisis Children in Crisis received $225,000 to fund the facilitation of housing for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. On-site housing provides stability, shelter, house parents, food, clothing, and necessary items to help children live a safe and healthy lifestyle.

$225,000 Children’s Home Society of Florida Children’s Home Society of Florida received $150,000 to expand their community resources within the school system that provide critical services ranging from tutoring to medical and behavioral health care to help eliminate barriers to care for school age children in need in Northwest Florida. $150,000 Children’s Volunteer Health Network Children’s Volunteer Health Network received $175,000 to fund and serve underinsured and uninsured children in need of dental care. These funds will allow for staff, supplies, and maintenance for the Mobile Dental Clinic to assist children in need with the most basic dental care to more advanced care. Emerald Coast Autism Center Emerald Coast Autism Center received $200,000 to support the ECAC Phase II Learning Center Capital Campaign which provides space for teens entering the Transition to Work program and in turn allows the Autism Center more space on their primary campus to serve young children on the spectrum in need of behavioral therapy.

$200,000 Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center received $225,000 to support mental health therapy programs, the case advocacy program that facilitates a child-friendly atmosphere offering counseling, family services, and coordination of investigations for child abuse and neglect, and the CARES prevention program that educates and empowers students and adults with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to all types of child abuse and exploitation.

Mental Health Association of Okaloosa and Walton Counties Mental Health Association of Okaloosa and Walton Counties received $137,000 to fund the Brain Health Program geared toward early identification, assessment, and treatment for uninsured students ages 12 to 21 who experience mental health or substance abuse issues. These funds will facilitate a variety of child services including child-centered case management support, a literacy program, shelter services, child and family assistance, and enrichment activities. DONOR IMPACT
PADDLE #1: STEPHEN AND JOAN CARTER’S LASTING IMPACT At every Destin Charity Wine Auction, the first paddle to rise belongs to Stephen and Joan Carter. Paddle #1 has become more than a bidding number; it is a symbol of generosity, commitment, and the quiet leadership that inspires others to follow. The Carter’s have been a part of the DCWAF family since the first auction in 2006. New transplants to the Emerald Coast from Kansas City, Joan recalls finding a small article in the local newspaper announcing the dates of the first Destin Charity Wine Auction with a number to call to reserve seats. Feeling deeply moved by the Foundation’s mission and vision, they joined DCWAF’s Board of Directors the following year, and the rest is history. Stephen and Joan consistently show up as advocates for the children and families the Foundation serves. Their presence in the tent is as much a tradition as the opening pour, and their paddle is a reminder that every bid begins with a choice to make a difference.
More Than a Number
To the Carters, Paddle #1 isn’t about being first in line; it is about setting the tone. “We believe in leading by example,” they share, “and if raising our paddle early encourages others to join in, then we’ve already made an impact.” Their giving goes beyond Auction Weekend. Throughout the year, Stephen and Joan support DCWAF’s mission by hosting and attending Patron Dinners, engaging with partner charities, actively serving on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, sponsoring, and sharing the Foundation’s story with friends and colleagues. 24 | Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation
A Legacy in the Making In a tent full of energy, laughter, and spirited bidding, it’s easy to get caught up in the moment. But the Carters never lose sight of why they are there. Each paddle raised represents real change; a dental visit for a child in need, a safe night of shelter, a scholarship, or a life-saving intervention. As Paddle #1, Stephen and Joan carry a legacy of being first; first to arrive, first to give, and first to believe that together, we can change lives.

COLLABORATION FOR A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY Charity Spotlight: Children’s Volunteer Health Network In a community as closely connected as ours, true impact is rarely the work of one organization alone. At Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), collaboration is key to our success. Not just with our donors, but amongst our charity partners. It’s our hope that by working together, our partners can provide the most comprehensive care possible to children in need in Northwest Florida. At the Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN), collaboration isn’t just a strategy; it’s part of the DNA. By joining forces with other charities supported by DCWAF, CVHN is extending its reach, amplifying its resources, and creating healthier futures for children across Northwest Florida.
Building Healthy Habits Together It begins with education. This year, CVHN delivered hygiene education classes to partner organizations, equipping children and teens with the knowledge to take charge of their oral health. At Westonwood Ranch, for example, CVHN led a hands-on hygiene class, and in return, Westonwood’s team rolled up their sleeves to help assemble dental kits for community distribution. It was a perfect example of giving and receiving, and each organization contributing its strengths for a shared goal. At Youth Village, CVHN’s oral health class blended education with empowerment, giving students the confidence to care for their smiles and understand the connection between oral health and overall well-being.
Dental Kits That Travel Far Collaboration often starts with something tangible. In CVHN’s case, it’s their dental kits, small bags packed with essentials like toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, and hygiene tips. Through DCWAF’s network, these kits reach far beyond CVHN’s own programs. Over the past year, dental kits have been shared with Children in Crisis (CIC), Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC), Caring & Sharing of South Walton, and Opportunity Place. These kits not only meet immediate needs but also spark conversations about preventative care, especially for children who might not have regular access to dental supplies.

Care That Crosses Organization Lines Some partnerships go even deeper. CVHN provides on-site dental cleanings for children at CIC, BGCEC, and Youth Village, ensuring that preventative care is available where kids already feel safe and supported. By bringing these services directly to partner facilities, CVHN removes barriers such as transportation, cost, and time; barriers that often prevent children from accessing the care they need. The Power of a Shared Mission What makes these collaborations so effective is the shared mission that unites every partner. Whether it’s providing shelter, mentoring youth, or ensuring access to education, all of DCWAF’s supported charities are working toward the same goal: building stronger, healthier futures for children. CVHN’s partnerships demonstrate that when organizations share resources, knowledge, and compassion, the results are multiplied. A hygiene class becomes a chance to connect. A dental kit becomes a reason to smile. A cleaning appointment becomes a step toward long-term health.
Looking Ahead As CVHN continues to grow, so does its commitment to working alongside other nonprofits. Together, they are proving that collaboration isn’t just about efficiency; it’s about building a network of care that reaches every corner of the community. Because in the end, healthy smiles are contagious. And thanks to DCWAF’s network of charities, those smiles are spreading further than ever before.

Harvest Wine & Food Festival OCTOBER 17-20, 2024 Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation successfully completed its eighth and most successful Harvest Wine & Food Festival in South Walton. Raising record-breaking revenue, the 2024 fall festival included an expanded schedule to meet overwhelming demand and sold out in early September.

VGS Blending Seminar SEPTEMBER 12, 2024 In September, DCWAF partnered with Cuvee 30a and VGS Chateau Potelle to offer a fun and educational blending seminar followed by a multi-course wine dinner.
9th Annual Restaurant Paradis Prohibition Repeal Wine Dinner JANUARY 11, 2025 In January, DCWAF was honored to be the recipient of Restaurant Paradis’ annual Gatsby-inspired fundraiser, which raised a recordbreaking $17,500.

Galentine’s Fundraiser FEBRUARY 1, 2025 In February, DCWAF hosted its fourth annual Galentine’s fundraiser at the home of Candis Wilson to raise funds for young girls in our community. DCWAF charity partners were invited to submit a special grant request to fund programs for young women in need. With eleven charities requesting support, DCWAF board members Jeanne Dailey, Tiffany Edwards, and Lane Redding and trustee Candis Wilson came together to produce another impactful fundraiser in partnership with keynote speaker, Stacy Pederson. This women’s only fundraiser exclusively utilized female-owned businesses for event production. The sold out event raised an astounding $106,000.

20 YEARS OF RAISING GLASSES AND CHANGING LIVES A Look Back at the 20th Anniversary Destin Charity Wine Auction Two decades. That’s how long the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation has been bringing together vintners, chefs, patrons, and community leaders for one extraordinary purpose: to help children in need across Northwest Florida. This year’s 20th Annual Destin Charity Wine Auction presented by the Jumonville Family was more than a milestone; it was a celebration of everything the Foundation has built since its first paddles were raised in 2006. The weekend was a sell-out, filled with unforgettable moments, record generosity, and a shared commitment to making a lasting difference.
Friday Evening | Patron Dinners: Where the Weekend Begins The festivities began on Friday, April 25, with 12 Patron Dinners hosted in private homes and celebrated restaurants along the Emerald Coast. Each dinner directly benefited one of DCWAF’s partner charities and featured distinctive wines from acclaimed vintners, paired with exquisite menus crafted by some of the area’s most talented chefs. These intimate gatherings set the tone for the weekend, blending elegance, generosity, and connection. Saturday Afternoon | The Main Event On Saturday, April 26, the spotlight shifted to the Grand Boulevard Sandestin Town Center, where an elegant, airconditioned tent housed the Reserve Tasting and Live Auction. From 1 p.m., guests explored the Reserve Tasting, sampling remarkable wines from internationally recognized vintners alongside inventive dishes from the region’s top restaurants. The atmosphere was both refined and electric, as guests also browsed the 33 cellar lots, 18 super silent lots, and 143 silent auction lots available in the virtual portion of the weekend’s auction, featuring autographed large-format bottles, rare vintages, art, and unique experiences. At 3 p.m., the Live Auction began. The energy inside the tent surged as bidders vied for once-in-a-lifetime travel packages, collectible wines, and one-of-a-kind items. The live auction kicked off with DCWAF’s flagship Magnum Force lot featuring 55 magnums from vintners past and present that raised $60,500. The highest single-selling lot of the afternoon was a trip to Barbados for seven nights that sold for $120,000 followed by a trip to the south of France that sold for $105,000. 38 | Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation
Other notable lots included a custom barrel of Paul Sutton Bourbon complete with a distillery experience that went twice for a total of $100,000, and a six-day immersive trip to Champagne and Alsace that went three times for a total of $105,000. Each winning bid wasn’t just a prize secured; it was an investment in the well-being of children across the community.
Sunday Afternoon | A Grand Finale The celebration concluded on Sunday, April 27, with auction guests being treated to South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival’s Grand Tasting. Auction patrons enjoyed access to an afternoon of culinary creativity and exceptional wines, closing the weekend in a swirl of flavors, conversation, and shared purpose. Two Decades of Impact The 20th Annual Auction wasn’t just a gathering; it was a testament to the power of sustained generosity. For 20 years, DCWAF has paired the joy of wine and food with the urgency of need, proving that great taste and great deeds can coexist beautifully. As the final glasses were raised and the last auction paddle came down, one thing was clear: this was not simply the end of a weekend. It was a celebration of a legacy and the promise of even greater things to come.

The Legacy Society HONORING DONORS TO THE DCWAF ENDOWMENT Over the past two decades, the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation has grown from a small group of wine-loving friends with a shared purpose into one of the most respected and impactful nonprofit organizations in our region. Together, we have raised more than $38 million for children in need across Northwest Florida—a testament to the generosity, trust, and vision of this incredible community. In 2017, DCWAF launched the Legacy Society; a fundraising branch focused on the Foundation’s long term growth and sustainability. All contributions to the Legacy Society are placed in a dedicated reserve fund that is thoughtfully invested and carefully overseen by a special committee of DCWAF board members. Our long-term vision is to build this fund to a level that allows us to guarantee that every penny raised by DCWAF events can go directly to the children we serve. Looking ahead to the coming year, the Legacy Society is expanding beyond promissory gifts. We believe creating a legacy for children along the Emerald Coast is critical to solidifying a better tomorrow.
