Projects

STORMWATER CONVEYANCE TUNNELS STUDY, PHASE II
HARRIS COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT |
HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS
The Phase II Tunnel Study is a CDBG-funded study to examine the feasibility of tunnel conveyance facilities to reduce flood risk in Harris County. The work included desktop studies to identify damage centers or zones of recurring flood impacts that could benefit from a stormwater tunnel conveyance system, as well as H&H modeling and analyses to inform the flows these linear conveyance features would need to carry to reduce flood risks.
108-INCH NORTHEAST TRANSMISSION LINE CITY OF HOUSTON
CITY OF HOUSTON | HOUSTON, TEXAS
DCCM provided final engineering design and construction phase services for 1.4 miles of 108inch water main from Aldine Westfield Road to Willis Street. The project was highly complex due to the water main’s size and the congested urban alignment, requiring evaluation of tunneling and open-cut alternatives to minimize impact on existing businesses. The project was completed at a total cost of $31 million.
BRAYS BAYOU CHANNEL MODIFICATIONS, DISCRETE SEGMENT 109
HARRIS COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT |
HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS
DCCM evaluated the impacts of channel widening on eight bridge foundations and designed retaining walls to protect abutments and stabilize bayou banks. Services included structural analysis, PS&E, utility relocations, storm sewer flap gate box replacement, and updates to the IH 610 bridge report. DCCM compared alternatives and recommended a final design based on cost, constructability, safety, and aesthetics.
