FALL CREEK TOWNSHIP TRAIL & PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES
FALL CREEK TOWNSHIP | FISHERS, INDIANA
DCCM designed a pedestrian trail system within an 80-acre natural area featuring over 3.2 miles of trails. The scope included a 40-foot and 80-foot pedestrian bridge over wooded ravines and a 600foot switchback connecting trails, with more than 150 helical piers bored into the ravine to support the structures. The project was completed within a $1.5 million budget.
JASPER PARKLANDS PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
CITY OF JASPER | JASPER, INDIANA
DCCM designed a new pedestrian bridge over two water cascades flowing into a natural pond and surrounding wetlands. The scope included aesthetic concrete abutments for seamless integration into the park, along with environmental permitting, wetland delineation, and coordination with USACE and Indiana Department of Environmental Management for stream and wetland impacts. Completed in 2017, the project received an American Society of Landscape Architects Environmental Stewardship Award.
REDBIRD STATE FORREST
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION | DUGGER, INDIANA
DCCM’s environmental team led the State Environmental Assessment document for this roadway reconstruction project, working closely with designers to remove several planned roadside ditches to avoid and minimize impacts to wetlands throughout the corridor. The team identified and delineated four palustrine emergent wetlands, three palustrine forested wetlands, and 10 jurisdictional streams, and completed all regulatory permitting for the project.
